Ceasing Apixaban

joint
replacement
surgery. Can anyone relate their experience with stopping and starting Apixaban before and after the operation. I also take Ramipril, will I need to stop this for a while?. Thanks

Happy New Year
Leg muscles are still stiff but supporting ‘dodgy’ knees although not apparently bad enough to justify
joint
replacement
which I am wary of anyway so, just going to see how next few months go as I am definitely better than I was a year ago. Hope that you are all improving too Marion

First post.
First
joint
replacement
at 58 followed by another two. I quite enjoyed the Concept rower and realised how useful it was to keep ligaments etc strong. I then got the other two bit of equipment, Bikeerg and Skierg. Got the Concept 2 app and joined in all the challenges etc.

Intro
Hi. I've been on HealthUnlocked for some time now and for some reason, my profile states I've not introduced myself. I've written a bio within my profile which summarises my journey with sJIA. I've had systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis for over fifty years and early on had periods of remission

bisoprolol
Has anyone else needed a
joint
replacement
? And if so how did you manage pain with any existing meds. I’ve tried diclofenac but after a week it was undermining my bisoprolol and my bp was increasing. Tnx

Over 50
I have been struggling withy weight for years. I started putting on weight when I started depression medication. Now I'm over 50 still battling obesity. Growing up I was very active, but that has decreased due arthritis and joint replacements. I'm starting a new year looking for support from others.

Hi,I recently went to see a consultant. I have a.10 year history of l5/s1 disc protrusion. Pain has changed the last few years and has been more in the facet joints. I have had 2 lots of facet injections over the last 2 years however had a bad flare up about 5 months ago which I am still recovering

Sacroiliac joint fusion
After many painful years I'm on the NHS list for sacroiliac joint fusion. Of course there is a 12 month waiting list. Has any one had this operation done privately? Struggling to find a private consultant in Yorkshire.

Raynauds and Hypermobility
Hello, I've been diagnosed with primary Raynauds which is getting worse. I've had blood tests to rule out other conditions, but they've all been negative. Should I be pushing for a nailfold capillorthingy (technical term...)? I've also got colitis, irritable bladder, some joint hypermobility so I'm

Hi all, I was diagnosed around two days ago with fibromyalgia and hypermobility syndrome (eds), although I’ve been struggling for a while now, I’m struggling to take in the diagnosis, I was just wondering if anyone had any advice to give or suggestions on what to do next. Thanks in advance :) x

aortic valve stenosis
In 2022 I had a hip replacement following covid infection as it affected the synovial hip fluid and was then alerted to the fact that there was a problem with my aortic valve. I need to have aortic valve replacement and am currently on the waiting list. In my first consultation the cardiologist said

I got my date for my Op ! Excited 😊
I have a damaged mitral valve with stenosis and regurgitation ( caused by Rheumatic fever as a child) Started getting symptoms 8 years ago and gradually I have deteriorated. My last echo in March showed the stenosis had got worse. I was told they wanted to try a Valvuplasty repair before the OH valve
