Anyone suffering from eye contact anxiety?
I have been diagnosed with severe anxiety and
clinical
depression
. Sometimes when I get stressed and anxious I feel very uncomfortable maintaining eye contact while engaging in conversation. So I try to avert my gaze away from the persons face. But they often misunderstand and get annoyed at me.

I NEED SUPPORT
I'm just here to rant and hopefully seek support from people who've gone through the same. I was emotionally abused by my own family and it drove me to depression. I almost committed suicide 4 times but thankfully I never went through with it. Part of me wanted to live maybe that's why I held on. I

Getting divorced
Hi. My wife and I separated 8 months ago. She is ready to move on and I am not. When she told me she was dating I responded with hurt and anger and a few choice words. I soon broke down, crying uncontrollably, anxiety like I’ve felt only one other time in my life, when my mother died. I checked

Heebeejeebies on low pred??
I have been down to 1mg of prednisone since January and toggling back and forth between 1 and 1/2 mg since April. But I feel mentally out of whack. Paranoid. Insecure. Incompetent. Stupid compared to others. Depressed. Anxious. This curtain came down on me when I was with people I have always liked and

Citalopram & Mirtazapine
Hello, so I've been back on 10mg of Citalopram now for a week - after a few weeks on Mirtazapine. All the side effects I was feeling from either coming off one and starting the other (Mirtazapine) have gone. My question is and still doctors just ignore when I say this, two days after switching tablets

When does it get better?
People have promised me that it would get better my entire life. From teachers to my friends and family, to the members of churches I haven't been a part of. Everyone has told me that it has to get better as if it's some kind of rule of life. I've tried to create conditions for "better" by seeking

Sertraline
I’ve just come back from a doctors visit and he has prescribed Sertraline for my ibs-d. Now I have looked it up and can see that one of the common side effects is diarrhoea. He said this is a drug that will be expected to be tried before an appointment with a gastroenterologist can be made. I have

Feeling sad
"Hello everyone, I am a new member of this group. I have been feeling depressed for almost a year now. I got divorced in August 2023 and soon after that, menopause hit me hard. Currently, I am working in a surgical office while also studying to become a social worker, as it helps me keep my mind occupied

People pleaser.
Most of my life I’ve been a people pleaser in one way or another. I’ve tried to stop but can’t, I’m constantly on the lookout for praise, approval and admiration. I’ve had various counselling sessions over the years for depression and anxiety. Through this help I’ve found the reasons I people pleasure

988 wasn't helpful
I tried 988 again even though I knew how it would go. She kept asking questions I had already given her the answers to. It felt like she was stalling the whole time with lines of questioning that led nowhere. We finally got to the coping skill part and she was suggesting things that everyone suggests

feeling trapped again
Last week was very overwhelming and I still haven't processed everything that I experienced. Some good came out of it and even that's upsetting. Suddenly people in my close family have changed for the better and are trying to get to a point where they can support me. But it feels like it's way too late

Citalopram to Mirtazapine

Initially, during the first week of taking it, I felt remarkably calm, capable of managing stressful situations effectively, and experienced improved productivity. Additionally, my sleep quality notably improved. I felt

Feeling depressed, wish me luck
It's been a while since I've posted. Things were going great and suddenly they're not. I've tried a new form of medication and it's brought back the impending doom that follows along with depression. I've been crying off-on for 2 weeks now. I'm so sad and I don't even know why. I want to be better

Neurology
Hi everyone, I finally have my appointment with neurology 16th May .My gp is taking me off pregabalin and advising amitryptaline (excuse the spelling) I explained this was also used as an antidepressant so would aggravate my symptoms, he then got quite angry and said well there's nothing else you can
