should I start interferon?
I’d be grateful for any advice or guidance on starting Interferon for ET CalR mutation. I was diagnosed with ET approximately 12 years ago when I was 57. I took Hydroxycarbamide in increasing doses over an approximate 6 year period when the efficacy of the drug began to wane. I was then prescribed

Lipid test results on 10mg Rosuvastatin
Hi all, I had been waiting to get the results of my lipid test to see how the small dose of Rosuvastatin was getting on with helping my cholesterol levels . Got the results back yesterday and GP advises not to change dose at the moment. Interesting to see how my stats have changed from being on 80mg

Genetic background strongly influences the impact of carrying the Thr92Ala-DIO2 polymorphism in the male mouse
Are you male? Are you a mouse? Do you carry the Thr92Ala-DIO2 allele? Can you wait for the publication of this paper? Can you wait for the human version of this trial? And do you consider it necessary to wait for the eventual publication of the human trial before considering T3? It is undoubtedly

New blood pressure drugs
Hi all I have had a lot of issues with BP meds currently on Felodipine 7.5mg and in general they are by far the best I have used. However I am an insomniac and Felodipine has definitely exacerbated this. No sleep at all last night. GP prescribed Mirtazapine to help but I only took half a dose and was

Ezetemibe side affects
Hi all. Has anyone been on Ezetemibe for cholesterol? I've been on it for 3 weeks and I'm feeling dreadful. Very low mood on verge of tears all the time. My chest aches as do my shoulders and one foot. I can't take statins so they're trying me on this. My cholesterol was 6 total and it's come down to

Cholesterol level and Q Risk
I don't remember seeing any discussions about the Q Risk with relation to a stroke or heart attack. My last bloods came back normal, no action. My cholesterol was 5.3 and I'm on 2mg pred.I asked the nurse what the Q risk was and it came up as 25% chance of a stroke or heart attack within the next 10

Low Testosterone Linked With Mortality Risk in Aging Men - by Jeff Minerd , Contributing Writer, MedPage Today May 13, 2024
No way to know if this is applicable to those on ADT, but it would seem to be relevant for consideration. The highlighted portion is a useful guide on male sex hormone targets for those testing them. These results might also add support for Morgentaler's "Saturation Model" for testosterone. Full

Stopping ezetemibe
1 year post NSTEMI and stent and finally had a call from cardiologist. Basically all fine thankfully. They said I could stop ezetemibe but stay on 40mg atorvastatin. Bit confused as NHS website says ezetemibe is for life. My cholesterol numbers are good ( LDL 1, ratio 1.9, total 2.5, triglycerides 0.4

Atorvastatin
hello. Mr GP surprised me when I visited him for something else when he informed me I had high cholesterol (7.5) and prescribed 30mg of Atorvastatin daily. Within a few days bad side effects appeared. I became so tired and drowsy. If I sat down I fell asleep almost instantly. I got an extreme
