Can you help with observations.
I guess my question is : is my daughter being weighed down by unnecessary medications which are being prescribed to her so that a box can be ticked. I am concerned about the health of her liver etc. She is 45 and has been suffering since the age of 15. It is a form of BPD . The problem as I see it is

more unwell and confused
I’ve been becoming more and more unwell generally over the past few months. Some of this is due to continual Herpes two attacks and now taking Valaciclovir every day, also new diagnosis of further erosion of the lumbar spine at disc three as well as 4-5. I take 11mg Preds every morning. I took it today

My PMR is basically gone, but now I got shingles on my right side of face.
All the drugs I took, take lowers my immune system. No prednisone anymore, but Methotrexate lowers immune response. About 4 days ago, got shingles on my face and forehead. It is super pain, bad pain. Before the shingles, I felt like my eyes were infected, eyes and skin all red and sore. Pain not quite

Time-limited Pirtobrutinib triple for treatment naive CLL or Richters at M.D. Anderson
https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT05536349 After several false starts, we're driving to Houston next week for the pre-trial screening blood tests, CT, and bone marrow biopsy. I think Dr. Thompson was a bit too optimistic before he left MDA, thinking it would happen in November 2022 or January

Shingles and GCA
Hi good people I’m curious to know if anybody here has after being diagnosed with GCA which I’m on 40mg pred, then after a few months ends up with shingles in my head, left side of face, I’ve now had shingles for a 4th week and really struggling with the pain. It’s so difficult to distinguish between

What do you think?
Hi. I joined this group because I really need help and advice on how to deal with my health issue and the fact I feel I am not being taken seriously. Throughout my life I've had periods of anxiety and depression, but have otherwise been pretty healthy all in all. About 4 or 5 years ago I began to notice

Valaciclovir Antiviral Medication
Hi, has anyone heard of this med or taken it in the past that could share their experience please? Are there any pros and cons? They seem to have awful side effects and potentially very harmful to the body. I'm very concerned and don't want to start taking them. Thank you.

HSV-infections
The most common drugs for treating HSV-infections are antivirals, such as acyclovir, valacyclovir and famciclovir. But what are the options if these common treatments do not help during a relapse? A clinical trial for a new drug called PRITELIVIR is now entering Phase 3. This drug has passed all previous

CLL in your skin
Has anyone has CLL show up in their skin? Did it look anything like this? Did it itch? How was it diagnosed? I got this after three days on valacyclovir, could it be related?

Valaciclovir
I saw this on another site: There is an interesting article showing that when men who have prostate cancer develop shingles and are given valaciclovir, there seems to be significant prostate cancer cell death. https://www.europeanurology.com/article/S0302-2838(09)00199-7/fulltext?fbclid=IwAR0QGaXJvb0Q4jUs15

parkinson's and shingles
Have had pd for 20+ years. Still quite mobile and functional. Recently diagnosed with a nasty case of shingles. Anyone out there who has had both? Any advice? Any problems with mixing of meds -- C/L and Valacyclovir? Thanks.

Urticarial vasculitis syndrome & hydroxychloroquine
Can anyone help by sharing their experience of hydroxychloroquine. Specifically anyone who has not been able to tolerate it? I'm beginning to feel like an oddity because I seem to have had quite an immediate reaction to it, which I was not expecting as I know the drug takes a while to get into your system

The Sweet syndrome as a cutaneous manifestation of Crohn’s disease
Sweet's syndrome (SS) can be triggered by inflammatory bowel disease (IBD - Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis). When this happens, SS normally develops in response to an IBD flare, but in up to 25% of cases, it appears before the diagnosis of IBD. This is a case of a 29-year-old man with CROHN'S

Never guess were solutions may be found!
I was tuned today on the laptop to "France 24" TV in English. French hospitals are inverstigating what might help patients with coronavirus infection. A number of substances were mentioned, and I just got the last of a word ending as "........clovir". Valacyclovir is a remedy after the onset of shingles

To fly or not to fly!!
Current dilemma apart from PMR is should I fly to Vancouver this week with my elderly Mum (89) who keeps good health to attend my nieces wedding (on a remote part of Vancouver Island) More concerned about travelling, it’s not an easy journey, and the fact that things are escalating rapidly. I’m doing
