COVID, Pneumonia and healthcare
Monoclonal antibody or
Remdesivir
was not offered, and the next suggested step is going back to ED when I am in my death bed. Considering my age (over 65) and pre-existing Leukemia, and having COVID and pneumonia, it's astonishing that I'm not classified as a critical patient.

Phlegmy covid cough and recovery times
He came down with covid about two weeks ago, had three days of
remdesivir
that started 7 or 8 days after infection. He still has a terrible phlegmy cough and is constantly coughing up mucous. He’s been under a lot of stress lately too which seems to be making it worse.

Not injecting IVIG due to low IGA
The treatment continued with intravenous antibiotics, intravenous dexamethasone, and finally 5 days of
remdesivir
. After 4 days, the fever stopped and I was finally discharged from the hospital after 10 days. Treatment at home continues with oral antibiotics and prednisolone.

This could be either sotrovimab or nirmatrelvir with ritonavir (Paxlovid), and those who are unable to receive these treatments will be offered
remdesivir
(Veklury) and then molnupiravir.

Refused treatment.
I registered my condition with all the relevant departments and awaited a phone call from a doctor to assess my condition with the view to being offered one of the new treatments, (Nirmatrelvir, Ritonavir,
Remdesivir
, or Molnupiravir) because I am clinically extremely vulnerable.

Results - COVID survivior, 4 shots, antibodies and on...
While there I was given
Remdesivir
intravenous (about 90 minutes at a time) for five consecutive days. I came out the other side, okay. If the risk versus reward balance is fairly clear I am going for anything and everything. Hope this helps someone else on this site.

Brother in ICU with Covid on ventilator
My brother is being treated with
Remdesivir
for the antiviral, he is intubated and 3 days in ICU. The updates are very vague, "he is comfortable" etc.. I want to know how we can step in if the treatment is just going nowhere and ask for another drug if required.

Extensive study identifies over a dozen existing drugs as potential COVID-19 therapies
Of the drugs that prevented the coronavirus from replicating in human cells, 19 were found to work in concert with or boost the activity of
remdesivir
, an antiviral therapy approved for treatment of COVID-19.

3D 'lung-on-a-chip' model developed to test new therapies for COVID-19 and other lung conditions.
Notably, this technology enables scientists to investigate how various COVID-19 therapies, such as
remdesivir
, impact the replication of the virus. Their results are published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. "We believe that it is a true innovation," said Y.

Plitidepsin found to work better than remdesivir for treating COVID-19.
Here we report that the drug plitidepsin (aplidin), which has limited clinical approval, possesses antiviral activity (IC90 = 0.88 nM) 27.5-fold more potent than
remdesivir
against SARS-CoV-2 in vitro, with limited toxicity in cell culture.
