He's type 2 diabetic
and
takes
metformin
and
glipizide
for it. After the surgery we have been having a hard time with really low blood pressure, like 105/30 and up. He was in icu for 2 weeks after surgery as they tried treating it with midodrine which doesn't seem to be helping.

New Tablets Interest
After cardiologist decided my left ventricle was fully blocked with plaque and it was as hard as a rock he said that the right ventricle had took over the job of purifying the arteries and had been doing this for a while, he suggested the best method to go forward was to leave things as they are and

Waste of time at new Endo
Hi all just thought I'd UPDATE after my daughters visit with the new Endo. On a scale of 1-10. I rate him a 2! The nurse took her BP and asked weight & hgt. Then the Dr walks in , says ok let's look at labs , remarked all look good. Daughter goes on to say she's put on weight despite working out and

metformin & tsh level
does anybody have any experience with metformin lowering TSH level? I came upon a study that said it can lower tsh in hypo patients. My daughter has been on 500 mg metformin for years. Her tsh is always low and she has a ton of hypo symptoms. I have hashimotos and my gut tells me she is headed there.

NEW TABLET CHEMYDUR 60XL
I have started to self medicate and been given new tablets the ones above and included on the packet Isosorbida-5-mononitrate. It seems an important addition as I have had around 4 medical people phone me and asking about them and if I have any side affects taking them, I am only having half a tablet

need guidance
Hello all, I'm new here. I was researching and came across this group. I'm asking for advice actually for my daughter. Here is the story. My daughter as a child was slightly overweight at age of puberty. When she was about 20, we went to a dr who ordered a thyroid US. Results multi nodules. No big concern

Prednisone vs Acterma with steroid induced diabetes. Really terrified
Update: April 2024 was scheduled for eye surgery for Strabismus which was canceled days before when in the same week I was determined by my Endocrinologist to have steroid induced diabetes which makes the general anesthesia too risky at this point. Rescheduled for August tentatively while we work on

Blocked fully left arteries
I have fully blocked left side arteries, surgeon said forget them as they are solid, he said the right side is doing the job on its own, yet I have been told that it can't be right, can anyone confirm or tell me what is happening? I have controlled angina, walk miles, only discomfort is very cold

Metformin experiences
Hi all, Hoping for some advice/experiences. I have been diagnosed “unexplained” however I do seem to have lots of follicles in my ovaries and although I don’t have any other typical “PCOS” symptoms, my new specialist seems to think as I am so active/fit I have masked the other symptoms and I may be

metformin tablets
I am so angry and upset. I've been taking round metformin tablets for 15 years. Now the tablet shape has been changed to oblong. The pharmacy says that 's all they can get. I can't swallow this shape for fear of it being stuck horizontally in my throat. Now I have to cut up the oblong tablets. They are

Change to diet
Plodding along for years with T2, first metformin but now insulin twice per day. Reasonably good diet, try to avoid added or high sugar, although carbs can be my downfall, mostly active, low alcohol consumption. Blood glucose readings fairly consistent, though slightly above target and keep nudging

IBS, possibly menopause, any advice
Hello, I’m looking for any advice if possible, I was diagnosed with IBS over 20 years ago now. I think I had it as a child, it seemed to come about right around the same time I got my periods at 11. Every month I would have horrendously heavy menstrual cycles that were so painful I’d almost pass out

metformin ?
I have recently stated to check my glucose by finger prick as although my HbAc1 has been ok and unchanged I am aware I am anaemic after 18 months of zoladex. My fasting morning glucose is 7.2 (129.6) and my 2 hour after evening meal was 8.3 (147.6). The issue is that my weigh is good and unchanged

Finasteride and ED/ libido
I’m 71 type 2 diabetes angina BPH enlarged prostate. I ditched Bisoprolol - total loss of energy and tiredness. Stopped Amlipodine as don’t have high BP usual metformin aspirin and Omeprazole. Very difficult to archive solid erection has been getting worse for years. I think it’s the Finasteride.

Feel shaky after breakfast
6 weeks ago had 3 stents fitted due to heart attack. All seems well other than weird feelings after breakfast and even one evening. Sort of bubbly inside and the evening one I was shaky on my feet so immediately sat down and ate a sweet as I feared low blood sugar felt fine soon after. I take Metformin
