Armour Thyroid for over 20 years
New studies have proven that
calcitonin
is reduced when T3 is low and interrupts the bone modeling cycle. It also causes more active osteoarthritis. And brittle bones. Armour has
calcitonin
in it. I guess I will up my dose on my own.

T4 only in Levothyroxine?
Seemingly T1 and T2 are used to make
calcitonin
to keep our bones strong so this is worrying.

How to add adrenal support (on NDT)
And I'm keen to get the benefit of the other thyroid hormones and
calcitonin
, especially as my vitamin D is low. Would welcome any thoughts and suggestions. I'll add all my test results to my profile now. Thanks and good health to all

Updated thyroid levels - should i reduce my T4 slightly?
I take Vit D /K2 spray and
calcitonin
and recommended B vit. Folate's still a bit low. Magnesium was in range last time i tested i.e. 0.92 (0.66 - 0.99). Many thanks - advice appreciated so that I can discuss with my docs.

How much do TSH, FT3, and FT4 values change in healthy subjects?
The aim of this study was to deliver BV estimates for thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), free thyroxine (FT4), free triiodothyronine (FT3), thyroglobulin (TG), and
calcitonin
(CT).

For those who have fractured, drugs and supplements
I am looking at Strontium Ranelate, I am in the UK so can get this, although I think the aspartamine in it will give me migraine which I get a lot, also, Raloxifene, but not sure this will prevent fractures enough, biodentical hormones are a possibility, maybe
calcitonin
as I have heard it prevents migraine

Calcitonin , is this the main cause for lingering symptoms in spite of taking levo?
I've done some research on my own and still fail to answer this particular question: why is
CALCITONIN
(an hormone coming from our Thyroid) completely forgotten when starting a Thyroid replacement treatment? Will this have long term consequences in our health?

Hello, has anyone read the study about
calcitonin
and Afib? I would like to know if doctors are already treating Afib with this hormone. Thank you!

New drug form may help treat osteoporosis, calcium-related disorders.
In humans,
calcitonin
is the hormone responsible for normal calcium homeostasis. When prescribed to osteoporosis patients,
calcitonin
inhibits bone resorption, resulting in increased bone mass.

Calcitonin hormone and the thyroid.
A recent article released by the British Heart Foundation ( apparently a game changer) links lack of the hormone
calcitonin
with heart problems, including atrial fibrillation, strokes, etc. If
Calcitonin
is produced by a functioning thyroid , does this make us more susceptible .

Bone Hormone A Potential New Treatment?
Calcitonin
, a hormone produced by the heart that helps regulate bone mass could be a treatment for people with AF. "Until recently, the hormone
calcitonin
was only thought to be produced by the thyroid gland, with no known effects on the heart.

T3 levels in normal people.
And
calcitonin
does not seem to be important, is there a preparation to take for this.

T3
Im wanting to stay on T4 while adding T3, I cant take NDT as it has
calcitonin
in it which I cant take. I take 125mcg of levothyroxine and results stay very similar each time, neither endocrinologist or GP want to change my dose given my results and I dont want to up the dose anyway.

Diffuse idiopathic Skeletal Hyperostosis
I am very worried that it may be something to do with
calcitonin
in Armour thyroid. But that I believe regulates calcium levels. I have read on the internet that there is no known cause for DISH.
