Leave pelvic abscess and monitor?
Hi all, At gynecology appointment today the doctor said I could opt for surgery to remove abscess in fallopian tubes )and possible one ovary ) or I could leave for six months and just monitor how I get on , as I'm not in pain all the time. At the moment having flare ups of pain roughly twice a month.

Hello - I’m struggling
My brother almost died from sepsis due to a huge abscess left untreated by the hospital. On the scans they found him to have child Pugh class C decompensated liver cirrhosis. Total shock to us. He’s no longer decompensated but is seriously ill after being in hospital for two months, having three surgery

Gingko Biloba - Supplement Advice
Hello everyone, I'm reaching out for advice on using Ginkgo Biloba to combat brain fog. My previous experience with the Amitamin Ginkgo complex yielded promising results in boosting mental clarity. However, I've noticed it contains iodine (150ug), which I'd rather steer clear of. With that in mind

Iodine and Povidone - A Chemistry Lesson
Over the years, we have seen many mentions of povidone-iodine. This video is the first time I have ever come across a proper explanation as to why povidone-iodine is chosen! It then continues with its aim of extracting pure iodine from povidone-iodine. The video could be very boring if you are

‼️ Did you know that around half of melanoma cases arise on the lower limb, yet melanoma of the foot and lower leg has an outstanding misdiagnosis rate of 36%! Acral lentiginous melanoma of the plantar surface is the only type of melanoma which arises equally across all skin types and late or misdiagnosis

Had circumcision, the “important stitch” popped (Dorsal slit).
Got a circumcision From day 2 after taking the wrap off I noticed a small open wound created by one of the sutures leading into the prepuce near the corona. as well as sutures with strange knot formations with smaller less noticeable wounds. One of the strange knot formations is where the open cut

Skin cancer

Lorazepam experiences for one-off use
hi Just wondering if anybody has experience of taking a small dose of lorazepam before a surgical procedure done under a local anaesthetic. I am having a MOHs procedure for skin cancer (bcc) on my nose in two weeks and quite frankly I am terrified. the procedure involves taking layers and examining

Our Heartfelt thanks!
‼ The lesion featured in this post may look like eczema or benign skin lesion, but it is in fact a melanoma! In rarer cases, all types of melanoma can lack pigmentation – these are known as amelanotic melanoma. Jane’s story below highlights just how important it is to get any abnormalities checked out

Selegiline side effects
Hi All. Due to drug shortages we've been unable to get rasagiline and had to swap to selegiline. Since the swap mum has had lots of unusual bleeding and the GP thinks it may be a side effect of the selegiline. Just wondered if anyone else has had similar problems and if so how did you resolve things?

Always the unexpected!
I recently had to have surgery on my face for Basal Cell Carcinomas (a not too drastic skin problem from sun damage). As I have multiple health issues the surgeon decided on a general anaesthetic to do skin grafts. I checked in and when the anaesthetist saw me I asked if he had seen the letter from

Masced Pro Training
‼ Over 25% of GP consultations are dermatology related, yet GPs only receive around 2 weeks training on dermatology AS A WHOLE - so unless a GP has what is referred to as 'a specialist interest in skin cancer', they have little-to-no training on the subject! That’s just one of the reasons why we developed
