I have recently had a hysterectomy, do you have specific questions about the procedure or recovery ?

Hi, I was wondering if u had any complications during or after surgery? Coz I’ve been told by my surgeon I may have complications during surgery as I’ve had multiple abdominal surgeries

I also have had multiple abdominal operations and because of this for the past few years my surgeon was reluctant to do a hysterectomy, however an annual scan showed a possible cancer so I was in theatre 10 days later for a total abdominal hysterectomy.

The op was “very challenging” as my surgeon said because of all the scar tissue, I needed a lot of haemostatic sutures and patches to stop bleeding.

I was in hospital for 3 days and op wise I was ok, unfortunately I was back in with Sepsis a week later. I was unlucky so don’t take what I’ve said as a common occurrence. I’m really glad I had the op and recovery from that has been fairly easy, it was the sepsis that floored me and 3 months on I’m still getting over that.

Aww it must be really hard for u, but we have to take each day as it comes. I hope u recover quickly. I had an appendicitis from there everything went wrong for me, my small bowel got blocked so had to have 4 major surgeries on the same place, then had an ileostomy but still have colitis. N now always bleeding with savere period pain they don’t know y it’s happening so I am having a hysterectomy, was just scared how it’s gonna turn out, a few of my surgeries have gone wrong. I really hope everything goes ok with u x
