Despite being sick and not feeling well, I still made my self do a quick 20 minute work out. I am willing to suffer 20 mins to achieve my goal. I am willing to hurt more and be sore to stay on track with my workouts.

Good for you. I feel better when I walk a mile or 2 daily.
Not only the walk but the fresh air feels so refreshing.

Exercise isn't meant to be punishment.
If you're unwell, forcing yourself to push on through forms a poor mental association with exercise, and also prolongs the period you'll be ill for. It's important to recognise when you need to rest
I recently had a stomach issue, and had to take several weeks off from exercising (well, I cut back to 1 light session a week). It's not set me back that much, and my body feels so much better for being given the space to recover properly.
