Pre hysterectomy jitters

I have my first appt down the rd of hysterectomy on the 19th. I am 33, never had a child, in pretty good shape. My hysterectomy has to be abdominal since I've never delivered, there's just not enough room. (3 identical opinions) any other women going thru this? Or have gone thru in the past? I'm very concerned about recovery time, but my Dr swears it won't be as bad since I am in good shape

Can I ask, why do you have to have this done? You’ll have to replace the lost hormones as you probably know and it’s so tricky to get that right. I always advise women to avoid a hysterectomy at all costs unless it’s absolutely necessary. Doctors don’t always have your best interests in mind when they order these surgeries. The consequences, the potential for a really bad mental state afterwards, are something to consider. Some women do find that their symptoms are much better afterwards, but many regret the surgery and of course there’s no going back. Just some thoughts.
