I have a bit of a situation. I usually get the worst period pains imaginable, so my doctor prescribed me some birth control to help. However, it doesn’t seem to be working all too well. Yes it did lessen the blood flow significantly, but all of my other symptoms are on overdrive. I’ve never been so nauseous, so bloated, so constantly irritated, or have had cramps this bad in a long time. Everything hurts. I’m a college student and I have classes today, but I know that I’ll be running in and out of the bathroom all day to be throwing up. It’s also so difficult to focus when you’re in so much pain. Is there any advice you all can give me? I can’t take in anything because my body just physically rejects it the second it reaches my stomach.

😏 It sounds like you have Dysmenorrhea (very painful periods). It’s possible that the side effects from the birth control pills are causing your symptoms. It would be a good idea to go back to your doctor, but in the meantime, all that is recommended are regular painkillers such as Ibuprofin (if you can tolerate it), and heatpads/hot water bottle 🙂 xB
