S-ICD - Am I still able to exercise as normal without too many limitations?
I know having the other type of wired
ICD
would of possibly had a few movement restrictions due to the wiring through the vein but if anyone has any positive thoughts on movement and exercise with an S-
ICD
, I’d love to hear! Getting a bit worried about it now! Thank you! 😊

ICD AND DRIVING
Hi All, What's the score with driving with an
ICD
. I Have received conflicting advice. I believe you have to stop for 1 month after device fitting if
icd
fitted for precautionary reason or you had a ventricular arrhythmia without incapacity? I understand otherwise if shocked 6 month driving ban?

Hello all, I was first diagnosed with heart failure in November 2017, had an

fitted 6 months later. Last June I was taken into hospital with sepsis, I went into septic shock twice and almost died twice, they suspected that those nasty little critters were hiding in the

ICD Firing
I’ve recently (6 weeks ago) had a
icd
fitted for VT. I am also in stubborn AF. This was all very sudden. I’m a 46 year old who has been active and fit previously. Last Wednesday I was out for a light run, and the
ICD
fired as my AF triggered it.

My partner has recently been fitted with an
ICD
in rather a fast manner following a call to attend A& E when this Heart Loop Recorder noted a 10 second Ventricular Standstill. He was unaware of this until his heart monitor team called but down the line he was fitted with an
ICD
that day.

Can you spare 10 minutes of your time?
An
ICD
is like having your own defibrillator inside your body so if your heart should go into a specific arrhythmia the
ICD
will shock it back into rhythm; whereas a pacemaker monitors and adjusts the rhythm and speed of your heart; if it is too fast or too slow it will adjust accordingly.
