There is always the possibility that your use of mouthwash and salt water is not allowing the normal microbiome of the mouth to be properly established. I know this will sound counterintuitive, but (assuming basically of course your nutrition is providing what you need for health) you could try allowing the microbiome to develop. A simple way would be at bedtime, after your teeth are cleaned, to sip a little bit of plain kefir (not sweetened in any way). Swill it around your mouth before swallowing. Then don't rinse your mouth again before you go to sleep.
I had to use a special mouthwash after a gum graft last summer and afterwards, after the mouth tissue was healed, my teeth were always feeling fuzzy minutes after brushing. I happen to have a really good liquid probiotic, based on kefir, and found that if I took just a little, a spoonful, after brushing my teeth they stayed feeling clean. I think doing something like this might be helpful to you. It certainly won't hurt. Worth a try? Plain yoghurt could also help but kefir would be better as it contains many more strains of beneficial microbes.
Btw, this particular HealthUnlocked community is for people with a chronic pain condition. Do you take prednisone?
Please have a look here where you will find a section offering support for people with periodontal issues:
I doubt we can help a lot - you have posted in a specialist forum for a rheumatological disorder.
However. Corsodyl is probably not a good idea - it kills everything, goodies and baddies and disrupts the mouth microbiome. It is not the way to sort out gum disease and it is perfectly possible your 3 monthly "deep cleans" aren't helping either. Have you seen a specialist in gum disease?
It won't cure periodontitis - read this article
Gum disease can be quite a complex issue and caused by a range of things. I agree with HeronNS amd PMRPro. I’d look at what might be affecting how acid or alkali your mouth is (something you ingest or do), avoiding medicated mouthwashes.
From my own experience my gums can’t tolerate the ultrasonic water jet (whatever it’s called) when they use it close to the gums because it causes gum inflammation for a week. The thought of a deep clean every 3 months makes me shudder. I also found that, quite by accident, that my gums didn’t like toothpastes with Laureth compounds in them. This ruled out all the usual and fancy, all dancing, ones.
Now that is interesting. Had a new hygienist last time at the dentist and she suggested a water pik (probably not whatever the tool is you've experienced at the dentist). Will have to rethink.
I bought a water pik some years ago and couldn’t get on with it: I found it messy to use-more or less needed a raincoat 😏.
😮Oops sorry everyone I didn't realise I was on the wrong forum. Please accept my apologies but thankyou for any advice you given me and pointed me to other sites.take care x
