I only heard of operations being done privately. Also, I imagine that a doctor wouldn't operate until the skin is back to normal. Can you ask for a district nurse to help you somehow? Also go on the internet about problems connected to the ulcer. Wishing you all the best.

Dear maz I am not surprised you are fed up and annoyed. Are you being referred to a proper lymphoedema person who can help you? Most GPs don't seem to know a great deal about it really. I also hope that a district nurse can offer you help. Unfortunately too many people on this forum have had to pester, cajole, fight, shout and so on to get basic decent treatment. Contact the LSN via their website to find local support groups, leaflets etc etc
