Endo for life?

If you've been diagnosed with Endo, does that mean you have it for life? Am I right in saying that it's not curable, just "controllable" through excision etc?

Iv been told yes! Iv had all of my endo removed and technically endo free ATM but iv been told to expect it to grow back after 18 months/ 2 years but every person is different..
