Doxazosin

Dr prescribed doxazosin 1 mg for seriously high BP took my first tab last night as advised,this morning dizzy,shaky,unsteady on feet......feeling weird,scared.

Has anyone else experienced this with the medication?

I can say that (from my reading on this forum over the years ) many people have trouble with their BP medication until it settles down.

Hi hotie, thats' a smalll dose to cause such a quick reaction. Having said that this is a BP drug I can't take . I would suggest trying it for a little longer unless your symptoms get worse in which case I would call 111 or999

Hi Hotie I had similar symptoms to you. One Dr said carry on and you will get used to it. Another said stop taking it. I stopped it as I felt so awful. I can't seem to find a tablet that suits me. I'm also hypothyroid and I don't think Drs consider other conditions that may affect how you respond to medications.

hi hottie, on 8mlg of doxazosin for 15 years …..no major issues, should settle down after a while …..1 mlg is a very low dose….is it complimented by any other bp drug you are taking?

I take 2mg morning and 4mg evening with no problems
