Small bowel intestinal overgrowth
The treatment prescribed is
xifaxan
. I’m waiting for approval by insurance. I’m also in treatment for CLL with Zanubrutinib which I began in May last year. I have had stomach issues, sometimes really severe, since beginning treatment.

Insurance was giving problem about refilling his
xifaxan
. Wanted the GI to try alternative medicines that are cheaper. Problem is that none actually work for hepatic encephalopathy. Only
xifaxan
and lactulose are approved for treatment.

Rifaximin (Xifaxan) and IBS (C) / bacterial disbalance, my experiences
Through this post I'll try to keep you informed about my experiences with Rifaximin, an antibiotic that I'll take for a month to treat my IBS (C) / bacterial dysbiosis. I've a lot of all over the body symptoms and hope these will 'disappear' or at least will become less severe. Also very curious if symptoms

Histamine Intolerance (and SIBO and Hashimoto's)
So next week I start taking
Xifaxan
and Neem for SIBO and Quercetin and a couple other supplements for histamine. Just wondered if anyone else has experienced a connection between going gluten free and histamine. This is been a tough road and I am ready to feel better/normal!

B12? SIBO? Anemia? Short Bowel?
I’m worried the
xifaxan
helped with bloat and distention, but has made neurological issues worse. Thoughts? Every once in awhile his BUN and Creatinine are off and so are his AST and ALT but GI says not to worry unless they’re like double what they should be. We have no one looking into this.

What blood tests need to be done on a regular basis for PA?
She is currently treating me with
Xifaxan
(whichI finished last week) and then Nystatin, which I am currently on. While taking Nystatin, she recommends also taking Biocidin (a liquid formula to help break up the biofilms of candida and rebalance the gut flora).

Question of possible reversal or continued healing
My labs normalized within 4 months and I was put on
Xifaxan
and Nadalol. I have now been symptom free for almost 2 years and honestly feel great.

Gas, IBS, SIBO
I tried Rifaximin (
Xifaxan
) and after 6 days I had bad stomach pain and strong diarhea. Since I usually don't suffer from stomach pain I got scared that I will be worse and I stopped drinking it. And now what?

Xifaxan (Rifaximin) Headache
Wondering if anyone had bad side effects when starting
Xifaxan
and how long they lasted? I've read this is one of the safest antibiotics with little side effects.
