Update: Dad's BROKEN ANKLE, non-planned SURGERY.... followed by PSYCHOSIS. -How he is IMPROVING!
DIAGNOSIS HISTORY: Although being diagnosed with PD in 2010 and likely having it for closer to 20 years, our 78yo father has done relatively well, considering age and this persistent, progressing condition he has. Before Parkinson's, our father was strong and hard-working, active, ate well...and he

interesting Xeloda trial
Hi friends, I listened to a presentation summarizing reports from ASCO 2023 related to MBC, and what really interested me was that for Xeloda, a fixed dose taken one week on/one week off, produced as good results as current standard of care with fewer side effects. Also: cream form of Voltaren/diclofenac

Aching calf muscles
Hello again everyone. I have had Maderna jab, then the flu, cough etc, but not covid. All other ailments, except cough had subsided...but now aching calf muscles in both legs. Back from GP appt, but not very reassuring, as it was a student locum, in hospital scrubs, who almost took longer reading up

Endometriosis pain
My 18 year-old daughter is severely affected by the pain of endometriosis. She currently takes paracetamol, voltarol /naproxen. However, they seem to be of limited help. Could anyone share with me succesful experiences with pain killers? I am considering taking her to a pain clinic but not sure how

is it possible to get this condition just be leaning sideways over a waist high fence? The pain I am in is terrible at night particularly exacerbated by covid. What can I do for this other than rub voltarol and take paracetomol? I’m on 2 steroids a day (for poly myalgia). Thank you

Another Quandary
I am going a bit off piste but hopefully someone on this forum might be able to help. I have had GCA for around about 7 years which is under control with 2mg a day of coated prednisolone. Recently I have had a flare of arthritis in my knees. Phoned GP he prescribed Naproxen 50mg along with Pantaprazole

Voltorol gel
I know this is probably a question for my nephrologist but getting hold of him is proving elusive. i have stage 3b ckd and have a constant (unrelated) bad back for which i take tramadol for. my question is whether it'd be ok to rub Voltarol (diclofenac 2.32%) onto back as used it before my ckd

Reduced prednisone again now at 5 in am, 5 in evening, feeling ok
On 3rd day at 5 and 5, right wrist got sore and swollen. Everything else ok but did feel a little wiped out. Today feeling great, wrist swelling going down. Will stay here at 10mg total for a while before another reduction. Still absolutely zero typical PMR pain. Frankly do not know what to make of

OA in hip and right shoulder
I've tried Voltaren, Duloxetine ( which did not stop the pain) Aleve, Tylenol, shot in the hip. I really don't want surgery, I'm 69. I even tried castor oil poultice.Id like just like to manage pain at night so I can sleep.... During the day when I'm up I can deal but nights are the worst.

Voltarol eye drops
can somebody please tell me how to use Voltarol eye drops I was given them by the eye consultant who did my laser treatment 4 days ago. I have to use them 3 times a day for 3 weeks, along side my regular 2 times a day eye drops. Do I use Voltarol drops before or after using my glucoma eye drops ,

Very sore and swollen hands. Is it possible I now have rheumatoid arthritis?
Hello 👋 😊 I have really sore hands. Particularly thumb/wrist joint on both hands and swollen little finger on right hand. Three or four finger joint too. My GP has done blood tests over several years and said it Osteoarthritis, not rheumatoid. Over the past 3 months I have had a couple of episodes

Update on post re Flare or Muscle Pain
I followed the advice for dealing with a flare, ended up having to go back up to 16 Mg (I had got to 10mg, but adding just 1mg to the level before the flare didn't help). Eventually after a week the pain and stiffness improved so after 2weeks I dropped by 2mg for a week. then another 2 mg for a week.

Voltarol (diclofenac): is this NSAID okay for people with ITP?
Does anyone know whether it's okay for people with ITP to use voltarol (diclofenac gel) as a topical application? It's an NSAID, which we're told to avoid because of the effect on platelets, but is enough absorbed through the skin to affect platelet levels?
