Tonsillectomy
I'm getting a
tonsillectomy
sometime next month.. and I'm very anxious about it. I heard the recovery is worse for adults and more painful. And the risk of bleeding afterwards is high.. which is scary to me. Has anyone on here had theirs removed? What should I expect and any advice

Feeling overwhelmed tonight
And I'm so anxious and nervous about the
tonsillectomy
😩I know I did this to myself by not eating for a long time. I'm still working on it ðŸ˜. I'm just so overwhelmed with life right now

I’ve just had surgery and I can’t eat
For a few days I’ve been suffering immensely after a
tonsillectomy
. I can’t keep anything down, not even water. I can barely move. The meds are making everything worse and despite throwing up every day since my surgery they discharged me and I’ve been unable to do anything at home.

Chronic Post Surgery Pain
I had a
tonsillectomy
in August 2018 and was eventually diagnosed with a nerve pain in my throat. I'm taking pregablin and nortriptylene for it and currently doing a pain management course.

Update from ENT appointment yesterday
At the end of the appointment she said that because of the pus not clearing up after months of having it (since the end of February) she said that she thinks it’s about time I have a
tonsillectomy
.

Don’t know what’s wrong with me
My main concern is that if I’m going to have this
tonsillectomy
and it turns out it wasn’t even the tonsils causing all this that the surgery would have been all for nothing!!! I want to know for sure that it is tonsillitis before I have a surgery like that done!

Worried about mum
I’ve been told I have to get a
tonsillectomy
, I’ve been told I’m anaemic as well so if I have to get iron infusions I will. I’ve gone to the doctor multiple times about other problems. But my mum won’t go about anything.

Life with cll. Another new concern.
Hi everyone, My last post was three weeks ago just after I had my
tonsillectomy
. And unfortunately today I got the results. It turns out my abnormal tonsils were full of cll cells. Or as my surgeon said loaded with cancer cells. Has anyone else here had the same experience or results?

Reflux and ear pain
I had a
tonsillectomy
in 1988 and that’s the first sore throat I have had since then. 3 courses of antibiotics later and I am still experiencing intermittent sharp ear ache pains that occur daily but this pain occurs when I am also experiencing reflux that I can feel in my throat.

Retroverted uterus and reduced mobility?!
For the last 2.5 years I’ve been to and from gps and consultants for many ongoing issues (reflux, reoccurring thrush, throat infections,
tonsillectomy
, nerve pains etc) and I’m wondering whether I’m now finally in the right hands.

Scratchy throat and allergy symptoms for months
I’ve had the white areas biopsied and also a
tonsillectomy
which both came back as follicular hyperplasia. I am just petrified something is being missed and having a hard time at living. I did give up alcohol way back in January so that’s no longer an issue.

Tonsillectomy
I have been offered a bilateral
tonsillectomy
as I’m getting these infections frequently. Doctor today said that I would be at no greater risk than others, despite being on infliximab and at this point my tonsils are doing me more harm than good.

Ultrasound Results Normal, Confused
In 2013 was the beginning of a horrible tonsillitis, had a
tonsillectomy
6 months ago. I’ve considered that may have resulted in thyroiditis (hence increased TSH 8 months apart and decreased T4/T3) but does not explain the 70 pounds gained in 6-8 months in late 2008 to early 2009.

Living with PCD
I later went on to have 3 bronchoscopy's, 2 sinus surgeries, a
tonsillectomy
, and adenoid removal. My freshman year of high school I had the smallest wheeze in my lungs, which was not uncommon for me. I then spiked a fever of 104.6 and its continued grow.
