SLT is an option?
Hi all, I have been diagnosed 'Ocular Hypertension' (27/23). I have started Latanoprost but quickly started quite bad reaction ( shortness of breath, palpitation, tight throat etc), ended up calling ambulance par instruction from GP practice. I had tried "Timolol" before Latanoprost and experienced

Glaucoma Eye Drops and Heart Disease.
As a 75 yr old with heart disease, ( triple bypass 10yrs ago ) I’ve been diagnosed with the onset of glaucoma. I’ve been prescribed two eye drop medications. Travoprost, and Brinzolamide/Timolol Mylan. The side effects fact sheet is a pretty scary read etc, with particular emphasis on the heart. I

Lowering eye pressure
Pre trabeculectomy I was on lantoprost for 3 months and it didn’t really lower my eye pressure and for the other eye I was on it for 6 months pre surgery. Tried fixapost and Timolol briefly before surgery and i don’t think it worked. My eye pressures have gone up and the consultant has put me on monopost

heartburn on Timolol drops?
I have narrow angles, pressure 15 and had Iridotomy a few weeks ago, I was given steroid drops after and on my follow up I now have high pressure 30 which I didn't have before so consultant thinks its the steroid drops. I've finished them now and she has prescribed Timolol drops for a short time to reduce

Dorzolomide/timolol switched from drop a bottle to single unit doses
In my repeat prescriptions, I have been switched from the 5ML dropper bottle to single unit doses. I wasn’t contacted by my GP first so I have no idea why, but because they’re single unit doses and I have to use it morning and night, effectively I have only been provided with half what I usually get

latanoprost vs timolol
My 85 year old mother has been on latanoprost for 2 months. She developed a condition where her left eye now looks inwards towards her nose. It may be palsy of the sixth nerve. Has anyone else ever had similar symptoms? Also, is anyone having good results using timolol instead? Thank you for sharing

Drops affecting eyelashes
I'm 41, had a combined trab & lens replacement in right eye 2 years ago and just lens replacement in left eye a few months later. Now the only drops I take are Dorzolamide timolol in the left eye, twice a day.I switched to the preservative free drops a few months ago but I think it's negatively affecting

Blood pressure medication
I've been on Ramipril and Bendroflumethiazide for years to manage hypertension, associated with T2 diabetes, and subsequently AF came into play, with betablockers and Rivaroxaban. But my blood pressure still kept creeping up, so the GP threw Doxazosin into the mix. This got the BP down to a better level

Does anyone else on Bisoprolol get occassional spikes taking diastoylic BP very high?
Hi allAfter Cardiology put me on 2.5mg Bisoprolol last Nov for Bigemniny & (8%) Ventricular Ectopics I discovered that although it reduces my BP lower than the BP meds i was already on, it also occassionally spikes my diastolic BP sky high. GP said it shouldn't do this & to discuss it with the Cardiologist

Blood pressure tablets Bendroflumethiazide
I've been prescribed this drug by my GP, and also Bisoprolol for fluid retention and high BP. I wonder if they will cause problems with my RLS. I had Furosimide some time ago, which I had to discontinue. I'm struggling to find medication for these two problems. I know Sue that you gave me a list of

Awful Fibrillation
thanks all who have replied I have not seen a Cardiologist face to face for three years , just phone calls spasmodically. You cannot get to see a GP here in Bristol either The last call I was told I should up my Dosage of Bisoprolol to 15mg as my legs are retaining water and I am poor on balance .

Longtime glaucoma patient
Hi. I just wanted to say that my experience with Glaucoma has been over many, many years. I’ve been very fortunate to have had treatment, isoptocarpine which was horrible. I have Myopia and these drops made it almost impossible to see for any length of time. They were to reduce the eye pressure quickly

Glaucoma and hayfever nasal spray
Excellent forum, thanks; I can't understand why I haven't found it previously. I have glaucoma in one eye, IOP in both eyes was previously managed by bimatoprost / timolol eye drops. My IOP followed the familiar path of slowly increasing over the years, commenced treatment with bimatoprost / timolol
