Pseudonomas
Doxycycline, Cyproflaxacin, followed by hospitalisation and two weeks of
Tazocin
and Ceftazidome. Nothing has worked. I have never been given anything nebulised. Any ideas?

The joy of the unclear diagnosis 😂
I’ve had sputum samples and nasal swabs in the past (but not for some years) which showed varying amounts of Pseudomonas aeruginosa (which appeared to clear with
Tazocin
, I got hives with ciprofloxacin so although I would like to review that, I might still be allergic to it which is a pain), Staphylococcus

oxygen after chest infection
I had a very bad breathlessness episode my CPR was 198 and given AV
Tazocin
after ciprofloxacin didn't work, I am feeling very nervous as have had to rely on oxygen and although at rest I can do without when I was on 4L, but moving around I must still have 6L, although was on 8L that's six weeks after

Pseudomonas again
In December I was put on intravenous
Tazocin
for 14 days in hospital. This was given intravenously and my veins kept collapsing every time blood was taken or a cannula fitted, so that isn’t a option now. My doctor has put me on my usual co-amoxiclav for 14 days.

Mum in ICU with covid on a ventilator and dialysis
The next day we were advised she was on 65% oxygen and was being given
Tazocin
a broad spectrum antibiotic for suspected lung infection. Today the nurse said she's on 55% which we thought was good but the nurse said don't get so hung up on these figures as they can go up and down.

Antibiotics and allergies
I had 3 days of IV
Tazocin
and sent home with a week’s course of ciprofloxacin, my breathing was no better when I got home although it is getting better by the day I have enlisted the help of an acupuncturist, according to blf it can help, I’m just waiting for an appointment.

Antibiotics and allergies
I have been on
Tazocin
for 3 days and nebulised salbutamol, I had started a 5 day course of steroids prior to going in so I have now finished those.

A&E and so on
I was in hospital for three days, on an antibiotic that's supposed to be the strongest (
Tazocin
). I had an infection and cellulitis and a blood clot. This was after one chemo session. It was an assessment unit which basically meant that they would find out what was wrong with us and move us on.

4th Mid Line Insertion ouch ouch and OUCH!!
I’m back on a different IV antibiotic ceftazidine as the
Tazocin
didn’t sort out the bug in my lungs which has returned with a vengeance l. Another line was inserted 5 days ago in my left arm - just as it’s recovered from the last insertion.

Detective Work
She has prescribed Ciproflaxin for the latter and in the meantime is arranging for me to have nebulised Gentamycin, the other drug
Tazocin
can only be administered by IV. Does any body on this site have similar problem? Thank You Bob

Day 19 = some changes
particularly with her lung function, they don’t feel that we’re ever going to get her much less productive (I completely disagree), but they do agree that the Azlea may be ineffective, and they’re now wondering whether she’s also got an anaerobe causing problems, so they’ve switched the Azlea out for

Yet another pseudomonas infection
Needless to say, blood test two days later showed they had increased to 95 so back on
Tazocin
for the remaining four days of 14 day cycle. He had another blood test today - two days after restart - and the levels have increased to 103. Surely if the AB is working the CRP would reduce?

Kicking those lung buddies in the butt
So today I got admitted and am now having IV
Tazocin
. Quite honestly I was ready for this. I’ve been so tired and breathless I’ve struggled to make food, stay hydrated, and do my chest physio and I’m trying to stay on track with a full-time undergrad course as well.

Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia?
So anyway, they reasoned that
Tazocin
is a strong antibiotic — which is fair — and that, if I don’t have underlying bronchiectasis or COPD, we don’t need to do the full 2 weeks as long as my infection markers are down. But bronchiectasis can start to develop in 3 years, can it not?
