New 2024 AUA/ASTRO/SUO Guidelines for Salvage Therapy
https://www.auanet.org/guidelines-and-quality/guidelines/salvage-therapy-for-prostate-cancer Not surprising. I think they should recommend adjuvant ADT at a PSA≥0.35 instead of ≥0.7 because I think patients are hoping for curative SRT and not just equivalent survival. https://www.prostatecancer.news

ART NIH Predicting the Outcome of Salvage Radiation Therapy for Recurrent Prostate Cancer After Radical Prostatectomy
Summary: Patients in this audience have had both radical prostatectomies (RP) and salvage radiation treatment (sRT) and want to know their chances of having recurrent prostate cancer. This study developed a predictive model called a nomogram that predicts the 6-year progression-free probability (PFP

MRI-Guided ViewRay for Salvage Radiation
Looks like I'll be soon heading for 6-7 weeks of IMRT salvage radiation. Has anyone been treated or aware if MRI-guided linacs such as the Mridian Viewray offer an advantage over CT-guided ones when it comes to post-op salvage radiation? With prostate gone, it seems a higher portion of the bladder and

HDR BT Salvage Therapy
Hello All I just completed the second BT procedure at MSK. Pain level was maybe 3 but mostly gone the next morning with some soreness. My next step I’m told is bloodwork in 3 months which I’m not concerned about. I am concerned about the 6 month MRI which could show if any cancer still remains. When

How are you sleeping?
I take Urso, Ocaliva, Prednisone,
Salagen
and thyroid meds by prescription. I was taking Benadryl a couple days and it was perfect, out like a light. I read Benadryl may not be safe for long term use with liver disease/cirrhosis.

Dry Mouth & the Advanced PC Patient (for those on Pluvicto or meds or ICI, where a side effect is dry mouth) - A Guide
Currently there are two prescription drugs available: pilocarpine (
Salagen
) and cevimeline (Evoxac). However, both have potentially significant side effects that may preclude their usage. Good oral hygiene is critical in preventing dental disease.

10 Years With CLL: Two Trials & Lifesaving CAR T-Cell Therapy
I rarely cross post to Patient Power but today there is a story by a fellow CLL patient I have known for many years as DebinOz. She is one of the few I know of with a more aggressive form of CLL than mine. And I think she has more air miles than my 750,000 with United. Len - See: https://patientpower.info

Should I cancel salvage radiation and ADT
I am 58 years old. I’m 185cms and weigh 95 kg. I was diagnosed with Gleeson 4+3 =7 around Feb 2014. I had a radical prostatectomy in 2014, Monitoring of my psa showed increasing levels; from 0.02 to 0.57 in Feb 2021. So it took 7 years to get from 0.02 to 0.57 I commenced ADT treatment 3 months

Update #3 in my continuing journey
So, today I visited the center in Reading, PA where they have been using Viewray Linac since 2019. The RadOnc I met with seemed very knowledgeable and spent a lot of time. Good bedside manner. He too discussed pros and cons of various options. He also ruled out Brachy or SBRT due to prostate size
