The Truth about Home Hemodialysis
It has been the hardest month I have ever had in my life. I promised I would write an honest and complete description of the process. I started on October 16th. The first week, I wrote about already. Not too many issues. But in my head, I was so overwhelmed. I was not ready for dialysis mentally in

I would love to hear about your experience and how it's going.... Do you have a in home care giver or are you solo? How long did it take to get comfortable with the process or do you ever get comfortable with it?

And so it begins......home dialysis
I will be doing
home
hemodialysis

The dialysis journey continues at home
Here is my latest on my journey in
home
hemodialysis
. I started this process on October 16th. And we came
home
on December 18th. Many people get home faster but I had issues with a couple of weeks of when they infiltrated my fistula (poked through it and I was bleeding internally).

First dialysis.... not for a wuss
I am going to do
home
hemodialysis
or HHD. I knew it was going to be tough, but had no idea. I was freaking out so much. They took my blood pressure, and it was astronomical. The center I am going to is small and the training is done in a private room with an assigned nurse.

How to control thirst to avoid Fluid overload
Hi Friends My mother is on Maintenance Haemodialysis thrice a week since 4 months. She is now adjusted to this process. As she lives in the tropical country, in the summer season it will be difficult for her to limit the fluid intake. Can any one advice how to control the thirst to limit fluid intake

What it is like to get an AV fistula, My journey
As RonZone did with PD, I am talking about
home
hemodialysis
, HHD. My lab numbers are at the point to "get-er done." The first step: I was scheduled for an AV fistula; first-stage left brachiobasilic fistula creation in the left arm.

Never give up !!!
I have since been on
home
hemodialysis
for 3.5 years now waiting for my 2nd transplant. I get frustrated at times and it feels like I will never get another " gift " but I will it's just taking longer because my anti-body's are so high from my past transplant and blood transfusions.

Switching to home hemodialysis
I have been on peritoneal dialysis using a cycler, which has been wonderful, for two years. Unfortunately my clearance has been falling over the last four months and treatment increase in the amount of dextrose has caused me to gain nearly 30 lb. My clinic has me scheduled to begin training for home

Question about dialysis
I’d like to know why you chose the type of dialysis that you did,
Hemodialysis
(
Home
or clinic) or peritoneal? Any insights would be appreciated.

Removal of Haemodialysis Fistula
Hi, Is there anyone who has had a haemodialysis fistula removed after a successful transplant. My consultant recommended it today under a general anesthetic as it's a bit fast, a bit strong and my skin is a bit too thin in places. I'm definately having it done, no qualms about that but I'd appreciate

Help with steroid induced hyperglycaemia
My story is in my bio as it’s rather long! Is there anyone out there managing Steroid Induced Hyperglycaemia? As I started on 70mg and had to stay on it for 6 weeks after diagnosis, I quickly developed SIH and have found it a daily battle to control it despite being on a very low Carb diet indeed! Diabetic

advice on bisoporol
Does anyone else get memory problems from bisoporol, I was fine on it but this past 4/5 months I’m having really bad memory problems and bouts of tearfulness and it’s very upsetting. Is there and alternative beta blocker that does not affect memory or would calcium channel blockers be better and what

Another injury, wrist this time
Just the other day, for unknown reason, memory of an old acquaintance popped into my mind, specifically her frequent use of the expression, "What fresh hell is this?" Perhaps I alerted the demon in charge my fate when I wondered if I could find a reason to say it. Yesterday I'd just heard from my son

Mum update (CBD)
Thought I had finally better give you all an update on mum. Mum had a fall back in Feb which resulted in a broken nose and slight skull fracture, still mobile unaided at this point, but with falls risk. Admitted to hospital after 24 hours in A&E, finally getting a bed in a ward. Ward then had changed

Change in inhalers
I'm currently on sertide and being switched over to symbicort. I'm not sure of the dosage etc as need to discuss further with gp. I'm a little concerned as been on seretide for years. When I get switched it triggers flares and I've already had loads of time of work. I work part time. I also think I'm

Has anyone been diagnosed with 'Da Costa Syndrome' after a head injury.
Weird histories involving concussion. Da Costa syndrome first appeared in the American civil war. It was thought to be some kind of heart disease that caused fatigue. But many soldiers with this were executed for malingering and being cowards. Then it became a psychiatric condition in the 20th century
