My daughter has suffered since she was 4, she currently takes
cosmocol
and we are on day 2, she is off school as I can never send her when she is like this, I'm just wondering can I also give her a dose of lactulose as well as the
cosmocol
, to try and help it a long, thanks

NHS gastro says SIBO
In the meantime I continue with docuease to help the IBSC, which I can take much easier than
cosmocol
. 🤞 🙏

Soiling Issue
We managed to wean him off Senna (started to give him tummy cramps) and have stayed on a maintenance dose of 3
Cosmocol
which produce stool type 4/5 once or twice per day. He does a toilet sit regularly 20-30 mins after every meal.

Post disimpaction still soiling
So, my son (4 y/o) has been on a daily dose of
Cosmocol
(1x sachet) for around 2 - 3 years now. When I first spoke with GP (2021) they got him on
Cosmocol
and it seemed to help with soiling.

stool withholding - dulcosoft liquid an option?
She point blank refused any mivicol or
cosmocol
, not even the flavoured ones so we were told to try lactulose. But even then we can only get about 15ml in her a day because she likes water.

Problems after taking cosmocol
I have been to the doctors who subscribed
cosmocol
....since starting taking it. The first night within 1 hour sneezing started and I must have sneezed 50 times that evening each one producing snot! Then eyes streaming.

5 weeks on from rifamixin for SIBO and IBS C.
I realised I needed less and less of the docusate/
cosmocol
and hardly any now. I try to keep with the low fodmap diet but not totally.

SIBO and antibiotics
However I never get diarrhoea - indeed I’m prone to constipation and therefor have a half sachet
cosmocol
one day and one tab docusate the next, third day nil to keep me moving. SIBO is typically with diarrhoea.

Is there something a bit more gentle than cosmocol .
I have been drinking more water and that helps but just wondering is there something that doesn`t create the very loose stools. I have an inguinal hernia so need to keep things flowing till it gets fixed.

Maintenance dose again or full disimpact?
This led to one week with no
cosmocol
at all, which seemed fine initially but yesterday she’s had a day where the poo was tiny, she seemed like she was witholding and she now seems reluctant to use the toilet. Do I need to go back to disimpaction or maintenance doses from this point forward?

pain under ribs
Domperidone did help (half tab not every day) but GE said not to take it as advice re impact on heart (my heart is fine , I’m 77 F. ) So it’s
cosmocol
(prefer half measure) , or docusate, or mebeverine. These do work but I still have awful pain under ribs (nurse said it’s bloating).

Second repeat disimpaction?
We disimpacted her successfully at the time using
cosmocol
(it took 11 days in total until we reached rusty water stage). We went to the highest maintenance dose. (4 sachets in line with Eric guidance) and then reduced down to 2 doses and then 1 dose over the course of 3 months.

When to reduce maintenance dose?
Hi everyone, After 3 years of on and off constipation, and last year having a really stubborn withholding episode, and one almighty disimpaction, we have now got a nearly 5 year old daughter who is on 3 sachets of
cosmocol
a day, and pooing regularly.

bowel tests and laxatives
Including a barium swallow( transit study related I guess) As I normally take senna,
cosmocol
& use suppositories and have to subsequently douche daily, sometimes x 2 times daily to empty and clear my dysfunctional bowel- hence tests.( I have the almost constant urge to’go’) could be neuro muscular

Fed up with this anal pressure and discomfort
Constipation has returned after two weeks being off the
Cosmocol
, so back on the
Cosmocol
sachets, ( tried lots of other things that didn’t work ) These give me side effects, and I really hate relying on these, when prior to March I was fine. anyone else had similar or can office advice ?

Weaning down CosmoCol
Hi all,Youngest daughter went through disimpaction in August (12 sachets then watery poos) and after slowly weaning down we're on 4.5 sachets a day. We stuck at 4.5 for 6 weeks but when we dropped down to 4 sachets she's pooing 3 times a week and complaining that her poos are hard. When I increased
