smear test
I had to have one of these yesterday 22/04/24 The nurse said it should be my last 1 thank goodness as I was in a state about having it done due to the fear of my Diverticular Disease/IBS and being a right old bag of nerves in case I would of had an accident during the exam so I did inform her beforehand

Seeking reassurance on fatigue and recovery
Hi everyone, I've been managing a rollercoaster of symptoms lately and wanted to see if anyone has experienced something similar.
Onset

MRI question with diagnosis
I’m looking for some help and guidance ! I recently have managed to get a referral to a gynaecologist ( all be it a private one ) from my gp which feels like a massive but scary step in the right direction. I'm unable to have an internal examination without sedation so this is something the gynacologist

Excessive Bleeding Experiences
Hello,I was wondering if anyone out there had a similar experience to me recently. I have been bleeding for 4 months non stop. It's not painful, the blood used to be a mix of old and fresh, recently it has been very bright and fresh. I first saw a nurse who was amazing- she did a general blood test

Do I need my smear ?
hi, seems like a silly question but I’m wondering if I need my smear? I have a hysterectomy booked for 14th may but today I revived my letter for my cervical screening. Do I still need to have this done? X

my mom may be diagnostic. Please help!
hi everyone. My mother is my best friend and the only one I have in this world. She is 78, has heart failure, cholesterol, BP, kidney diease, annemia and diabetes. It’s been a real challenge with doctors daily with these conditions. Now, to top it off I am deathly fearful because she may be diagnosed

Complaint to Head of NHS Oncology
I have had smear test that came back positive. Been back and tested normal but fear of cervical cancer is high as I'm not able to have sex due to a lot of pain. I've been told some women are lied to about their prognosis because the NHS don't have enough time or staff to attend to get patients treated

FUMING, Bloody GP's
posting as otherwise I will wind up having a hissy fit. Not really a thyroid issue but just shows how poor the system is. Had a smear December 14th, had had some niggling worries so thought right sort it out. Phoned GP's to ask for signposting to appropriate service. I was told we'll book you in

Extremely Painful Smear Tests
Hi everyone, I had my first smear test this morning and it was that painful the poor nurse only got halfway through the procedure before she declared me too distressed to continue. I just wondered if anyone else has had this experience and if there's anything I can do to prepare for next time? I fear

Advice for estrogen vaginal cream
I've been using Estradiol (vaginal estrogen cream) for about a year or so. I've always used the applicator to apply the cream but I'm wondering if I can just smear the cream on with my finger. How many of you ladies apply the cream with your finger? I'm afraid if I don't use the applicator and don't

Possible NHS misdiagnosis saying clear for HPV when private home test says positive with variant 16 (the test and smear were 14 days apart)
I have tested HPV positive for 2 smears a year apart, the last one was Oct 2023. So I went for my third on 18 Jan this year and have just been given the all clear and told it will repeated in 5 years (which I doubt as I will be 71 then). HOWEVER, I had already done a home test with Medicines Online

polyp/ bleeding
hi all, I’m just looking for some advice really. Basically a few years ago I was under the gynaecologist team in the old city where I lived. They suspected that I had endometriosis but this has never been confirmed. Two years ago I moved towns so got discharged from them and haven’t seen my local gynaecology
