People with high blood levels of niacin, (vitamin B3), may be more likely to have a heart attack or stroke than those with lower levels
In fact, vitamin E and
beta
carotene
, a source of vitamin A, have been linked to an increased risk of cancer.

Multi vitamins - at last some recognition
Those who took the MV/MM supplements saw improvements in their blood levels of certain vitamins, such as B6, vitamin D, vitamin E and
beta
-
carotene
, showing that the supplements could indeed boost the amount of these nutrients in the body.

Astaxanthin
It seems to have potential as a very powerful antioxidant but too much anti-oxidants can also be a bad thing (based on vitamin E and
beta

carotene
supplementation research) so I think correct dosage will be important. https://examine.com/supplements/astaxanthin/research/

Supplements - Dangerous, Essential or Useless?
You can see this for instance in many trials of Vitamin A,
Beta
-
Carotene
and Vitamin E: ref: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/17327526/ In these cases negative outcomes resulted in a recommendation in some quarters not to ever supplement these nutrients at all.

Pee problems
Lately my hypochondria has been in over-drive. I have incontinence. That is, when I feel like I'm done , and zip -up, I shortly see fluid has soaked into my denims. I use Myrbetriq, a drug to lessen bladder spasms. It works, that is, when I'm done I don't feel the urge to continue peeing

vitamin A test results
I’ve had several tests: May 2022: vitamin A retinol 1.03 (1.05-3.84) May 2022:
beta
-
carotene
0.73 (0.28-2.33) September 2022: vitamin A retinol 1.17 (1.05-3.84) the latest retinol test was at least in range, but not what you’d call optimal. Many thanks for any advice on this.

Vitamin A and liver enzymes
I also ate lots of
beta
-
carotene
via vegetables, but I believe that’s not damaging to the liver.

Why do we use IFN-α vs IFN-β? Might IFN-β be preferred?
I've discussed IFN types before. Some interesting info here that INF-β might be better to reduce inflammation/progression. ---- A recent post noted that Interferon is used for MS disease. This is the other IFN type 1, IFN-β (vs our IFN-α). I checked into why the difference. It turns out there

Immune System..
A nutrition pattern that’s rich in fruits and vegetables, such as the Mediterranean diet, serves up antioxidants and anti-inflammatory nutrients, such as
beta
carotene
, vitamin C, vitamin E and polyphenols, to promote healthy immune responses.
