For just over a year now I've been suffering from what my neurologist calls posterior circulation migraines. When I first started having them,it was about 2 or 3 per week,my symptoms are double vision, throbbing in back of head but no pain, balance and coordination problems and feeling confused. I never suffered any pain in my head. My neurologist started me on triptans but the side effects were to much. I'm now taking pizotifen which have reduced the attacks to 1 per week. My recent attacks I've been having the same symptoms but now I'm having a pounding head pain on right side of my head. My neurologist says my MRI scan shows evidence of an old lacuna stroke, basically he saying I've had a stroke in past but not known it. He assures me what I'm having are posterior circulation migraines caused by altered blood flow in back of head. He says pizotifen is working because my attacks have gone from 3 to 1 attacks per week. He says I should take co codamol or naproxen to help with head pain during attacks. I'm just worried with results of my MRI scan showing signs of past stroke and problems with posterior circulation I may have a major stroke. My neurologist has also given me stroke prevention medication. What do you guys think? I can't help but worry.

MRI will always show some sign of previous minor stroke to most people with migraines, I wouldn't worry about it.
What medication was given for stroke prevention? I am guessing small dose of aspirin?
Thanks 👍
