Fashion advice?

Hello everyone!

Basically my endo has now got to a stage were I CANNOT have anything over the top of my affected areas (in my case my lower back and my stomach) which makes figuring out what to wear extremely tricky!

At night this is easily remedied (nightdress) but during the day if I put on a top or leggings (jeans are out of the question) , it becomes extremely painful.

I know the obvious solution would be to wear a dress but I live in the UK and it's awfully cold at the moment! And it's not even like I can wear tights because they also have a waistband which presses on my problem areas.

If anyone has any words of advice I'd be super grateful πŸ’•

Hello I highly recommend maternity leggings, over the bump kind. I find these really comfortable when it's hard having this around my stomach.

Depending on how much endo bloat you get you may need to go down a size of you don't bloat much to avoid having it too loose at the waistband (more like underboob band) but if you do tend to get quite bloated you should be fine in the normal size you wear.

Hi,

Ooh that's a really good idea! I'm not bloating so much anymore (I suspect thats because I'm not eating much) so I'll probably go down a size I guess πŸ€” thank you though! 😊

Yes best thing is no one can tell your wearing anything other than normal leggings.

Hi,

Yes it is - I forgot to mention the waistband somewhere in this post πŸ˜…

Oh no how awful, did it get better after the surgery? Hopefully I will be able to find something in the sale. Thank you for your advice 😊

Hiya.

I find jumpsuits and dungarees are a bit of a lifesaver. I go up a size to make them baggier, and relieve pressure off my tummy. You can stick a jumper over them to make them smarter.

Good luck shopping x

"Snag" tights are so comfy, and you can wear them higher( comfortably)....so try the dress/ tunic option. I'm the same but can tolerate these tights.xx

Hi, I’m the same. I wear maternity big knickers and leggings. Also a dress with big (2 sizes bigger) tights or hold ups. Maxi dresses are good as with some boots nobody knows if you’re wearing tights or just warm socks.

On slightly less bloated days I wear jumpsuits but find the elastic can be uncomfortable if I get huge during the day. Iv not worn jeans in over a year, contemplating maternity ones. Good luck and just be creative and comfortable xx

I have exactly the same problem I can’t stand anything touching my stomach as it hurts and is really uncomfortable so jeans and leggings are out of the question. I live in dresses and add footless tights in winter but the next size up so they go over my belly. Then add a pair of boots. I also love my dungarees they are really comfortable

I have the same problem with extreme pain starting if anything lightly touches my lower abdomen, especially when I am bleeding or mid - cycle. A doctor felt the lumps and was bemused as to what it is. She sent me for transvaginal ultrasound and they discovered several fibroids. But did not mention anything about all the small (extremely painful) lumps that can be felt through my skin. Several doctors/ two gynaecologists now have told me they believe that I have endometriosis. After twenty- eight years of extreme pain, passing out, vomiting, diarrhoea, heavy bleeding on my period. But I have been told that it isn't worth having a laparoscopy and 'radical surgery' as it all grows back. And I have only been offered fibroid resection for one submucosal fibroid.

Did you have confirmed why your lower abdomen is painful to touch? Do you feel lumps the re?

Sorry for the long post.

On no how awful - have you had the surgery yet? I can't feel any lumps but I had a scan done awhile ago and they found that my ovary was stuck to the top of my womb. I believe a cyst was found as well, but I was told this was 'normal' πŸ™„ mine also isn't when I'm bleeding, it's just a permanent feature.

Thank you for being so kind as to reply.

I have not had any surgery. As the fibroid resection plan sounds pointless. As they just 'shave' off the part of the fibroid that is protruding into the womb. In the hope that the rest then moves into the womb. And then they'll want to do the same thing again. It sounds like a ridiculous plan to deal with one fibroid. Ignoring the other five plus. My G.P said that the ultrasound technician only recorded the measurements of five and then wrote that there are 'several' In the meantime I am left heavily anemic, exhausted, dizzy, with periods that can last upto thirteen days.

Sorry for the long message.

I truly hope that your symptoms ease and that you can find snuggly and comfy warm things to wear this winter.

I am extremely sorry to learn that you have had major surgery. I pray that it eases and then ends your symptoms.

Take good care of yourself.

Hi your symptoms sound like what my sister had and she had fibroids she was eventually prescribed pro stap and had a hysterectomy last year she's doing really well now and not having any problems. My endometriosis wasn't found until this April when I had a total hysterectomy they found the endo and a chocolate cyst, I was pain free for 3 weeks and then it returned. I'm now starting pro stap next week for 6 months and then having my ovaries removed. My symptoms were constant pain and very heavy periods every 2 weeks and constantly feeling drained. I would loose weekends through being asleep

I am extremely sorry to learn of your suffering and pray that this last session with pro strap brings you immediate relief and you can relax before your next operation. I am so sorry that you are having to endure these trials. I truly feel for you.

Please take very good care of yourself.

Wishing you renewed good health and healing. πŸ’–

It's a shame cause I love my leggings too 😭😭😭 I had a pinafore style dress but that's become uncomfortable too lately... I'm sure I have some footless tights somewhere - thank you for your advice 😊

Perhaps low rise leggings and jeans will sit lower on your hips instead of your abdomen.

Wishing you well.

I love my pinifore dresses but can't wear them anymore as there to restricting and they make me look pregnant as I'm constantly bloated. I go for loose fitting dresses a line or skater and I love jumper dresses as there quite stretchy

I had the same issues with clothing due to the awful pain round my pelvis & struggled with waist bands but I’m finally pain free since I tried gabapentin. I can’t rave enough about it. It literally has been like a miracle cure for my pain.

It’s been over 3 weeks since I had a major flare up so I’m just so thankful that I’ve found something that works! I’m also having prostrap injections

Really hope you’re pain free soon x

Well as a designer dungarees is the perfect style for girls especially in August with a modern mask for protection this summer, actually i’m a freelance fashion designer, i used to sell many dresses and shoes designs to big fashion companies such as Zara, Gucci, Prada and also some celebrities. recently i signed a contract with big fashion company here in US and i’ll design skirts for women exclusively for them, the company i work with now is lilylulufashion, you can check my skirts here: lilylulufashion.com/tulle-s... , you can also find nice dungarees styles for 2020.
