Was diagnosed 6 years ago with superficial Endo. Just had a laparoscopy at St Thomas in London (BSGE) and no Endo was found. What the hell is wrong with me then? I am so frustrated. So so frustrated. I can’t even explain it. I am in pain 24/7. I get pain when I go to the toilet, when I have sex, when I go running, when I ovulate, bad periods, bad right sided pain, flare ups with alcohol and certain foods. So what the hell is it? I am NOT imagining this pain. I have PCOS, maybe it’s this. I just don’t know but I do know that I can’t live on Tramadol for the rest of my life.

Hi Meg have you had an MRI to check for adenomyosis? The symptoms you list are like mine x

I was told I had no endo after a laparoscopy at a bsge centre last year. Last week it was found by a different team. BSGE centres can miss endo, which sounds more likely than it disappearing, especially if you still have symptoms.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. If the current team aren’t supporting you I would ask to be referred elsewhere. Adenomyosis also doesn’t always show on mri. If you’re on Facebook there’s a group called Nancy’s Nook that is basically a library of research backed endometriosis info. Good luck x

1) Changing your lifestyle always helps with chronic painful conditions like endometriosis or PCOS. You shouldn't smoke nor drink, sleep plenty (at least 9 hours per night), move outdoors, eat very very healthily (no processed foods, fried foods, cured meats, sweets and desserts, chocolate, pizza, soy, dairy, preferably not even coffee or industrial red meat. Go for fish, veggies, fruit, nuts, seeds such as chia seeds, quinoa, amaranth, corn, rice and other gluten-free wholegrains, drink matcha green tea or herbal teas and plain water, smoothies are great too. Avoid dressings other than extra virgin olive oil, vinegar or lime juice. Use lots of ginger and turmeric in your dishes). The diet and lifestyle themselves will help immensely with PCOS and maybe with any other conditions you might have. I suggest you also get your vitamin D levels checked

2) You need to have advanced excision surgery with a highly skilled surgeon. I have a list of the most experienced and skilled working within the NHS.

The operation I had yesterday was with an experienced BSGE specialist. Once I have recovered from my op I am going to be stricter with my diet (I follow a vegan and gluten free one), carry on running and get back into yoga, wean myself off of the tramadol that I take every day and book in some reflexology. Want to do it the natural way.

Yes ok but I have endometriosis and I don't take tramadol and you're telling me you don't have it and you're in this much pain? I'm sorry but I can't buy the diagnosis. They should have at least pointed out what other things might be going on. It sounds like a major red flag

Well this is my second BSGE specialist I have been to and my third operation. The first one I was actually diagnosed and Endo was removed and the last two no Endo was found. I don’t really want to put my body through another operation anytime soon so the natural way is what I’m going to have to try and see if it works.
