No diagnosis 8 years on

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a bit of guidance. I am a 22 year old girl who has been living with hellish periods since I was 14. Aslong as I can remember I have always had bother and have been on realistically every pain medication/ hormonal contraceptive there is to try and relieve my symptoms. I am currently being prescribed oxycodone for the pain.

Around two years ago I had various ultrasounds and a laproscopy for suspected endometriosis however these came back negative. This year I have underwent a sigmatoidoscopy and a colonoscopy as not only am I bleeding menstrually during my weeks break from my pill but my bowels appear to bleed as well. Again all came back clear.

Last week I had another period from hell and I can physically no longer take it. I was wakened at 4am from the cramping pain, suffered a week of unbearable migraines, my face broke out in spots and facial hair and my back was in tatters. I feel as though when I approach the doctors I am given no support or taken seriously. I am often just sent away with more morphine which I find completely unacceptable at 22 years of age.

I have just started my first graduate job and three weeks in had to take a week off due to the pain. I’m reaching out to see if anyone has had a similar situation that could offer some advice as I cannot bare the thought of approaching the doctors once more to be told that I’m “just one of those unlucky people who gets bad cramp”.

Any help is much appreciated!! Thanks x
