Not sure what you mean. Bright red blood is fresh bleeding. Brown is old blood, old menstrual lining slowly making its way out, because it isn't so runny, it needs lubrication, either from a fresh period bleed or from mucus which the cervix and vagina produces.

It can also be helped on its way by douching or washing out through the vagina.

Because the old stuff can come out at any time, it could be the start of a period, or right through or any time afterwards too. It doesn't mean a period is gone, necessarily, as in a period is finished, though that might be case from time to time. it cannot be relied upon as a signal of anything at all.

Douching or washing out the vagina is extremely bad practice, and no decent gynae would recommend you to do this. It removes all of the natural flora from the vagina, that keeps everything balanced and healthy.

Just let your period run its course, there is absolutely no need to try and help it on it's way. Its a natural process.

I get brown when in coming to the end of my period. Usually having a bath flushes the last of it out however I do wear a pad for 2 days after just to make sure x
