Just started on oral steroids and wondered if anyone knows if it's OK to use Rennies for minor indigestion?, I mean, not loads, just occasionally?

Yes you can take antacids for indigestion.

If it’s caused by your medication and you’re on uncoated oral steroids you may very well find you get indigestion and should be on stomach protection while you’re taking them. It’s worth asking for enteric coated tablets if you’re going to be on them for some time and if you don’t want to start on Omeprazole or similar then it’s fine to take an antacid when necessary.

Thanks for the advice. I'm on Omeprazole but just had a bit of indigestion, not sure if it's related or just coincidence.

Its probably worth checking with your local pharmacist.

It is always worth checking with your local chemist. Pop is or give them a call

I was warned not to take antacids at the same time as other meds. Leave two hours after meds or two hours before. Not an expert here but a pharmacist is

for future info use your pharmacy team as a source of knowledge! Mine are great and as based at my GPs they can check everything in one go! I always have gaviscon to hand now due to medication🥰

My dear old mum used to take Rennies by the packful. Never did anything for her acid reflux though. Surely a few won't do any harm.

They can interact with other medications so always worth checking with pharmacist first.

I have heard some tablets can't be mixed with indigestion tablets , but I think they are only a minor few and it should be in the patient leaflet with your drugs. If you are taking statins you are advised not to take indigestion tablets containing Aluminium or magnesium, a lot of antacids contain magnesium . So always best to check the patient leaflet with your specific drug. Hope that helps.
