I have just gone through my worse nightmare. On December 19th 2023 my Beautiful youngest daughter Hayley was diagnosed with Cancer.
She had no symptoms whatsoever and it was picked up on a routine test.. She had the test last October but unfortunately it got lost. It was found in a Manchester Lab and we live in Wales.
On 19th December she was happily at work when she received a phone call to go to the Hospital and to take someone with her ( not good). Her friend from work went with her and she was given the devastating news she had Cancer.
My whole Workd fell apart as she is a single Mum with a 15yr daughter, my Granddaughter. They are inseparable and so close.
After months of tests and scans she was finally operated on last Thursday.
After a 5 hour operation the anaesthetist phoned me and said everything went better than expected and the Surgeon got the necessary clear margins needed.
It was a rare Cancer and in an awkward place not usually picked up on the test she had so it truly is a miracle.
Both the Surgeon and Anaesthetist told Hayley it was a miracle it was contained .
Both My Daughter and Granddaughter got Baptised on Easter Sunday . Hayleys friend and the Pastor Baptised her then She and the Pastor Baptized Darcy..it was the first time ever a Mother had Baptised her daughter and very moving. There wasn't a dry eye in the Church..She has had churches all around the World praying for her and believes The Lord was by her side all the way..He truly performed a miracle.
She is in HDU but will shortly be moved to the ward and then back home with me as she lives here with her daughter.
It's been a long horrendous journey I wouldn't wish my worse enemy to go through, as no Mum wants to be given that news
Hayley is one of the lucky ones as it was caught early as she still had no symptoms when she went into hospital..
I am one grateful Mum and can't wait to have her home again.
Take care everyone and make the most of every day . I wish you all good health.. xx.Sheila 🙏🙏❤️❤️

Oh Sheila, what a terrible 6 months you’ve been through, you and your lovely family. I’m sure you’ve all been through great worry, stress and sleepless nights through this time. What wonderful news that she is in a good place now. Yes, recuperating time ahead, but such good news. And that you’ve had faith that has accompanied you through this time.
I remember you'd had your own challenges before and through this time too - something gives sometimes when you’ve been holding it all together, so keep a close eye on yourself too.
Enjoy this happiest of news, and signs of spring and sunnier, warmer times ahead - you all deserve it! 🌞🌷🪻🪺💐🍀👠💞🩷😘
Yes fingers crossed. At the moment I am trying to clean as I have a cleaning lady coming tomorrow. Defeats the object I know lol x😍❤️🙏 sending hugs xxSheila ❤️
Dear Sheila my heart goes out to you and Hayley. Darcy too of course. Such truly devastating news for you all but what a miracle the cancer was found and contained. That’s such wonderful news.
I hope Hayley will be home with you soon and all will be well. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Thinking of you all.
I can’t express how happy I am for your daughter and granddaughter right now, you must be feeling so relieved. To be told that dreadful diagnosis must have been mind blowing. Hopefully you can all now put it behind you and enjoy the rest of your lives.
Thank you Wendy. We have been very fortunate to have the good news many don't get that chance.Hayley will be back taking Darcy on Holidays and we are all looking forward to her Prom in June.
Keep safe and I wish you good health..xx.Sheila 🙏❤️🙏
Thank you. There is a God and he has been with Hayley all the way . The waiting was the worse not knowing the outcome.Spoken to her just now she's feeling better hoping to get out of HDU today and on the ward. One step closer to home. Thank you and I wish you a bundle of good health.
Dear Sheila, what an amazing outcome after such a horrible time. The pain and worry can't have helped your health either. I'm very happy for you all with the latest news and thinking of you and your family 🙏💛🧡❤
No unfortunately I have lost over a stone in weight..the worry and uncertainty just wouldn't go away. Thank goodness she is Cancer free ..and her whole life ahead of her. I prayed to let it be me instead of Hayley.
There's a future now and I'll be grateful for ever
Take care and I wish you good health .lots of love xx.Sheila ❤️ 🙏😍
Oh Garshe, what a truly awful time you've had. I am so happy for you all that Hayley is on the road to recovery. What a relief for you all. I am sending love and best wishes to you. Rattled
Sheila, your whole family have been through so much over past few months, but you were fortunate to have the support of each other. The outcome of the surgery seems positive, and soon Hayley will be back home with you and Darcy.
I hope the oxygen nurse gets in touch with you soon.
Thank you. Onwards and upwards. Positive thinking and our Faith has got us through. I need help now as still struggling but I'll get there fingers crossed
Oh Sheila, so pleased that the terrible journey you and your family have been through has at last had a positive outcome. Please look after yourself as this must have had a terrible impact on your health ❤️xxx
It has taken its toll. Lost over a stone but now Hayley is cancer free its onwards and upwards.I can't explain what we have been through some nights up all night talking as Hayley and Darcy live with me.
Now its a different story so will try and get myself sorted.
I can fully understand what you've been through. I had very similar experience (with a cruel twist) but without the positive outcome ❤️. Too hard for me to say much more but take care Sheila and love to all your family ❤️❤️xxx
Thank you. So pleased the worse is over. Onwards and upwards. Hayley will have a long recovery but she is a determined young lady and wants to get back to work. She loves her job and they have been so supportive since day 1.Take care lots of love ❤️ xx.Sheila 🙏❤️
Thank you, she's much better today all tubes out and she's sitting in chair. She was not ill going in so hoping she'll make a quick recovery. Has to take it easy and no lifting etc. Just slowly walking around. Thank goodness we have had such fantastic news . Take care lots of love xx.Sheila ❤️ 🙏🙏
She certainly has. She has had so many signs. Cross in the sky and even a cross made out of wood outside her hospital room. She truly believes the Lord has been with her all the way. Even the surgeon and Anaesthetist said it was a miracle as they were expecting to see things different . She's had a big operation on the precautionary side but it could have been even worse.
Oh I'm so glad that this story ended happily. It must have been a terrible time for you all and now light at the end of the tunnel. May Hayley's recuperation go well . Look after yourself too , Sheila. Lots of love to all of you. xxx
Thank the Lord indeed. Corridor walking seems to be prescribed after any major surgery. I remember doing it in a corridor lined with very interesting/ totally gruesome pictures of the insides of hearts. I hope Hayley has something nicer to look at. xxxx
Dear Sheila, I'm so pleased to hear that Hayley is making a good recovery. I understand what a worrying time this must have been for you. My son was diagnosed with lymphoma when he was 17 and it was quite simply a nightmare until he was given the all clear. There is nothing I wouldn't do for my children. My very best wishes to you, Hayley, and all your family, Helen xx
Thank you. All good news. It's been a nightmare but she is one of the lucky ones. Her faith got her through and the Surgeon and his team.. she's out of HDU and back on the ward. All drains out and she walked the corridor. Amazing.
That sounds a very scary experience for you ,your daughter, and granddaughter. Very glad the operation has been successful . Wishing your daughter a speedy recovery .
Sheila what a testimony. As a mother you would have been so worried for yor daughter words can not explain. Your daughter would have been likewise serverley worried for her own life plus her daughter and parents but look at the miracles and results. Look after yourselves. Do you mind if my pray group and I also pray? Take care off one another 🙏Yvonne A
Hayley has had people praying for her all over the World. Please feel free to pray. The Power of Prayer is a marvellous thing .thank you. Never lose Faith. xx.Sheila 🙏💕
it really does sound like a nightmare but I’m so thankful that your daughter has come through it all and is starting to do better already. Thinking of you and your daughter and her daughter. Hopefully your health will start to improve soon too 🤗
Thank you so much. I'm struggling but have to try harder as Hayley will need a lot of help on the road to recovery. It's been a nightmare these past few months ,thank Goodness for the wonderful outcome. Take care xx.Sheila ❤️
Oh sheila i am so sorry to hear this but the worst is over now . Just the following medication I assume to complete .My step daughter in law is just 3 months away from completing her tre atment for lung cance r discovered this time last year . She is fine .
It's Been a long road for your step daughter in law. I wish her a speedy recovery. It's scary how many are being diagnosed with this dreadful disease . We are over the worse thankfully so we can look to the future now. Take care lots of love xx.Sheila ❤️
She may be home today or tomorrow as all tubes out and she walked thr corridor yesterday. Hayley is a very strong and determined lady so I have no doubts she will be out and about in the near future. Take care lots of love xx.Sheila ❤️
That sounds like such an awful time; my heart goes out to you, your daughter and granddaughter. It would be my worse nightmare too. I’m so glad your daughter got such an early diagnosis and is now doing well.
wonderful news garshe, and yes we must always have faith, it is hard not to at times but, i fumble at times but i have to have faith, it is comforting i wish you all well xx
Hi Sheila what a shock you all have had ,I am thinking of you and your family as you go through all the recovery your daughter needs and you sound a strong bonded family to get through this together .Best wishes for your daughters recovery and her coming home soon
Oh garshe, what a roller coaster few months. It really must have been a living nightmare. Thank goodness your faith and belief helped you, Hayley and Darcy. There was an extra pair of hands in the operating theatre, it's wonderful for you all that it seems the worst is over. My thoughts and prayers are with you all and hope that Hayley has a successful smooth and full recovery. One of my favourite verses is 'cast all your cares on Him, for you are his charge'. Joy xx
Life is so precious and sometimes so fragile. You've all been tested, but what a result! Hats off to the hospital team. And now a new journey begins for each of you. It is so good to read all the supporting comments above. Go well. ❤️
Oh Sheila thank goodness you have your faith to keep you strong, this must have been a terrible few months that you have gone through. Sending healing prayers 🙏x
I’m thinking of you, they are always our babies…… my darling daughter was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018, then 18 months later it had metastasised to her lungs. She’s just had a really bad 6 months but with new chemo etc is over that hump now.. fingers crossed x
I saw your post and just have to respond. Faith is Hope and I don't know where I would be without it. Much to my surprise I was diagnosed with a vulval cancer about 25 years ago. Though I live in Indiana I was taken to Chicago for surgery, to one of the large teaching hospitals. I'm just fine! They told me there had been a few invasive cells but after treatment and follow up I have been a-okay.I'm so happy for you your daughter and granddaughter. Are children never cease to be our children. Last year my 63-year-old son had to have open heart surgery. There is nothing that makes me more anxious than my sons will be and that of my grandchildren.
I discovered this wonderful forum when I developed an autoimmune disease, gca, and I found it most inspiring ever since. My very best to you and your family🫶💕
Hi Sheila. What a moving post you have written. I am inspired by the faith and baptism of Hayley and Darcy. Prayer does help in many ways and personally, I pray daily for those around me and when I am in a dark place owing to illness. Bless you and and all your family. You have given strength to Hayley in her time of need. xxx💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
How devastating for you all, but thankfully by the sounds of things a very good outcome, wishing you & your family all the very best for the future & your daughter a long & healthy one, sending love to all 💐🌺🌷🥰 xx
I was worried as your posts were getting fewer and I knew you had been through a bad spell but I never envisaged this. We have different faiths I think but the same God and my personal prayers at the end of the bidding are always to keep my children (men in their fifties) safe and give them strength to face life's setbacks. Good wishes to you and your family Dorothy xx
I can imagine the agony you felt through all of this for your beautiful daughter. (I am very close with my adult daughter as well) God saw you all through!! So thankful that you had Him to lean on and to put your faith in. God Is good!! All glory to God indeed!!
So very sorry you and your family went through such a tough period. Good to hear things are working out and best wishes to your daughter for a fine recovery.
Hello dear garshe, Reading your journey with your daughter with such a positive outcome gives an idea of what you have been through emotionally. May all continue to go well for your daughter and the hops and faith you have spur you on. With love and a hug. x
Such good news Sheila. These accidental finds are aNow all thismazing (I've had 3 cancer finds with no symptoms but the last one - an all clear CT scan, showed heart problems!!).
Hayley will be monitored now so you can rest assured everything will be OK.
I'm really sorry to hear this. I cant imagine how hard this must be. I'm so pleased things were dealt with quickly. Such a scary time for you both. Sending love & hugs to you both & wish Hayley a good recovery.
Absolutely Amazing is All I can say God allowed it to be found early God bless You AllSomething I am always afraid of as I get breathless and fatigue and my hubby always smokes so it's my biggest fear.
Our family believe The Lord was with Hayley all the way. He chose the top Surgeon who worked his miracle. She is one of the lucky ones where it was caught early, thank you Lord. Hayley is a fitness fanatic and always eats healthy. She has never smoked or drank alcohol so it was such a shock. The Surgeon said he has never seen so many young healthy young women with cancer. Scary. Hayley had no symptoms whatsoever. She's the last person we expected to be given that devastating news.
She is at home now and on the mend. We are very fortunate to have this outcome. Take care xx.Sheila 🙏💕
