I have suffered with very low pitched tinnitus in one ear for 13 years now. I have just resigned myself to live with it! The only times which I get any relief for a few days, is when I’m exposed to certain noise for a prolonged period. Eg, a long haul flight or yesterday, when I was daytime clubbing for about 4hours. When I get this relief, I realise how much it does impair my hearing. Would noise therapy work for me, with this in mind? Anyone had something similar? Thanks

tinnitus relief from loud noise
My T is mostly high-pitched but this also happens to me. Although my T reacts to and can be made worse by moderate-level sounds, it can reduce when I am exposed to very loud sounds, even briefly. This has always been the case - I can remember my T being very low-level when coming out of concerts. Even so, I'm not sure that exposure to loud sounds is good for your hearing and your T in the long-run. If it works for you with moderate-level sounds, you could experiment with a sound machine. I have one called a Homecube (although it is not cube-shaped) which is very good and has a wide variety of sounds. I find that the bird-song can temporarily reduce my T but other sounds may work for you.
