DRUG REACTIONS

I find it amazing that so many of us can have such varied reactions to the same drug. For instance .. I have taken a Valium two nights in my life and both nights I didn't have just nightmares, I had horrormares. It's strange how the brain works ... it refuses to allow me to remember them, thank God.

Maybe the relaxation the pill gave you enabled your brain to play around with some scary things it's got tangled up with. If I manage to go a night without a zopiclone (which also acts on the BNZ receptor), I get slightly disturbing dreams – people sort of breaking in (but not doing much harm), and so on.

Hello Grany. Valium seems to affect people very differently. If my sister takes a 2 mg. Valium tablet it knocks her off her feet! However, I can take 10 mg. Valium and not notice any difference. It does not even seem to sedate or calm me at all. As the saying goes on this forum "everyone is different". Sorry to hear of your experience. Nightmares are horrible - even the milder ones. Good Wishes

Yes, it is very interesting! Lots here take Gabapentin but I can’t. Gabapentin makes me really angry, irrationally furious with everything. Too scary. I have also tried Mirapex and had to discontinue as it heightened my sense of smell to an unbearable level.
