Feb 2021: MRI shows prostate at 41cc.
Dec 2021: Biopsy shows 2 of 40 cores with G(4+3)
March3 2022: New MRI done to get targeting information on PCa. Also 6 mo Lupron after MRI.
MRI report...
Prostate now 31cc.
MRI can not see the biopsy G(4+3) Rt. anterior distal
MRI finds PiRads grade 3 elsewhere. 8mm. Left posterior lateral peripheral zone at apex.
head explodes...
Can anyone make sense of this?

It's not mysterious. Lupron shrinks the prostate and prostate cancer. That's the benefit of taking it when you are going to use radiation.

But I had no Lupron in me at time of MRI.Completely untreated at that point.

How is it that you took Lupron after the second (planning) MRI.? They would have to redo the plan after it shrank. Did you use finasteride or dutasteride before the second MRI?

I have not had those drugs

I was requesting brachytherapy. But i pee weekly (shower too).
So their idea was to give me lupron and see if that improved my urine performance.
But nobody knew at that time that my prostate already shrank!

Someone mixed up your lab reports?

Well I just received the prostate volume at biopsy.
So the timeline is now..
Feb 2021: MRI shows prostate at 41cc.
Dec 2021: Biopsy shows 2 of 40 cores with G(4+3). Prostate at 34.8cc
March3 2022: New MRI done. Prostate at 31cc.

Tall Allen asked me about finisteride...
Is that like Cialis?
Because, I just thought of it. I was put on Cialis right around the time of the first MRI.
And it did settle down my prostate a bit. I noticed that.
That was the one change that happened during this prostate shrinking.
I also am on Flowmax but have been on that for years. One at night.

Finasteride blocks the action of an enzyme called 5-alpha-reductase. This enzyme changes testosterone to DHT. DHT causes the prostate to grow.
So finasteride reduces DHT. This can reduce the size of the prostate. Dutasteride is similar to finasteride.
Typical use is for hair loss. Propecia or Proscar.
