Out of hospital Pt2

I've escaped again. At least this time I feel lots better. I'm on more steroids. Slowly reducing and Anakinra... daily biologic. It's an actual syringe job so it's as well I'm a vet and used to giving injections. It's worse injecting yourself but I'll get on with it. Fingers crossed I'll be a new woman in the new year. 🙌

Good to hear that you are doing better. As an ex-farmer handling the syringe wasn't an issue for me when started to my biologic. I've never had an issue with injecting myself. However when I tell some folks that I inject into my abdomen they freak out saying that could never do that. I had issues using my thigh. Being male and relatively fit there was little subcutaneous fat and the Cimzia was ending up in muscle. I got a wee bit of a reaction there which I don't get in belly.

How do you find the Cimzia? Any side effects at all? Asking as I’m about to go back on it after trying to work out some possible side effects.

It's worked well for me, been quite a few years and no side-effects.

Lol. I'm a farmers daughter and wife and a vet. The syringe thing is fine and injecting hairy animals all ok. It's the human skin thing. Luckily!! I've had a few kids and have a good belly for injections. The pen biologics I had in the past I used my thighs but this I think would hurt. Still it has to be done. Thanks for the reply, gave me a laugh.

so pleased you’ve escaped again. Wishing you a happy healthy Christmas try not to do too much if that’s possible and hopefully you’ll remain at home and no more hospital stays.

I was wondering how you were getting on and whether you had managed to make it out. I hope you experience a swift improvement.
