Were you seen by a doctor at the time. If so your medical records either community (GP) or hospital would have that information as to whether or not it was meningitis. If a medical diagnosis was not sort at the time then I am pretty sure it is not now possible for any diagnosis to be made or to connect any problems you currently have to having had meningitis. Unfortunately the after effects are not exclusively caused by meningitis and could I think be related to many different reasons. If your problems are affecting you then I would advise that you get yourself medically assessed so you can find out if there is anything can be done by you or medically to improve your difficulties. Thank you for your reply...
I don't think in the records there was meningitis at that time... but heard there was symptoms of it...
But i think i have problems which are very similar to that of after effects of meningitis... like emotional instability, mood swings, depression, concentration problem, behavioral problem. The main problem i am having is the general anxiety disorder.
Like you said the after effects are not exclusively caused by meningitis.... if not meningitis.. what might be the main reason for these problems ?
Is there any way or treatment for general anxiety disorder... coz this is the one... i think is creating all other problems in my life,... is meningitis only problem for general anxiety disorder... or it may caused without meningitis also...
I think if not meningitis General anxiety disorder may give emotional instability ? concentration problem ? behavioral problem also ?
Very Confused!!!
Thanks again for you reply.
Hi
As previously mentioned, there are many causes of the problems you describe (meningitis only being one cause). General anxiety disorder is quite a common problem and the most important thing for you is to get the support you need. Please speak with your GP about this. There are many different ways to help and your doctor is best placed to advice you on this.
You will also find some good general information about anxiety disorders here: nhs.uk/Conditions/Anxiety/P...

GP is General Practitioner which is your family doctor that you would consult about any health concerns.
