Difference between dementia & Anhedonia?

Hi All,

My Dad started losing interest in his hobbies around March last year and isn't as enthusiastic in doing things as he once was.

He recently went into hospital with a UTI having become a bit delerious. However, the tests for the UTI seem negative and I just wondered if anhedonia can cause confusion as the Dr thought the onset of delerium was a bit too rapid for it to be dementia.

Has anyone else a similar experience or trying to diagnose confusion in this way?

Many thanks

Mark
