Interesting... although the 'report' contains "slightly over-hyped" claims ...but IN MODERATION this stuff won't do you any harm.

Take care not to confuse coconut water with coconut milk though ... the milk has a gazillion calories and is high in fat and sugar.

Slightly over-hyped claims. What claims would these be?

The claims made in the report at the end of the Facebook link.

Coconut milk is high in fat but it is saturated fat which is fat the body needs, just don't condume too much saturated fat in one go though.

As soon as I read this, I ordered 1L of it from a website called Ethical Superstore. You can also get coconut water from Holland and Barret as well.

Can you explain the difference between coconut milk and water please ?I thought it was the same thing-the liquid inside the nut : )

Coconut water is the liquid inside th nut and coconut milk comes from the meat/flesh in the lining of the coconut.

Ah, thanks. All these years and I never knew !I remember drilling coconuts when son was little ,putting a straw in and us drinking the juice (which I would have incorrectly told him was coconut milk ! Oops )I would then cut them inhalf with a hacksaw (not for the fainthearted-it takes forever ! )hang up half for the birds and give the other half to the Russian hamsters to nibble the coconut out of : )

Well, like you, I would have thought coconut milk and coconut water is the same thing but according to wikipedia (the online encyclopedia) it is not the same thing.

I got the coco water on Friday. Some people say the taste is disgusting. I however, beg to differ. I think the taste is like Cornflake-infused milk :). When you have eaten all the flakes, you tip the excess milk into your mouth. That to me is how the water tastes :).
