I suffered from this too and upset my family and friends on numerous occasions! The people that I care about I have educated regarding my no holds barred verbal and I carry an identity card, provided by Headway that briefly explains my unintentional behaviour

Hang on to the fact that it's not his fault and he can't help it. If people know him, they can learn to accept this and if they don't, just try to ignore it. I know that's easier said than done but for your own sake, you need to try. x

may be we say what other people only think ? a bit like UKIP

INTERESTING THOUGHT. I THINK IT'S THE BI EQUIVALENT OF IN VINO VERITAS - THEY SAY YOU SPEAK THE TRUTH WHEN DRUNK SO MAYBE WERE ARE UNKNOWINGLY TELLING IT LIKE IT IS RATHER THAN BEING ALL PC. I SOUND & MOVE LIKE I'M DRUNK ANYWAY THESE DAYS SO NO-ONE KNOWS I'M NOT. MAY HELP.

I have looked after autistic children for years and know just what you mean. They tell me autistic children don't lie. maybe what your son says is just his perception of things.

I would try not to worry too much about it TBH. People who know him will understand and for those who don't know him, just a very brief apology should do. I find most people would realise there is an underlying condition.

Thank you. It is very hard for people to understand. He is tall, dark and handsome and people expect something different to what they get.

My hubby can come out with quite inappropriate comments and those that know him,friends/family,we just joke with him and say inappropriate and he stops, its one of the side affects unfortunately after brain injury

its almost as if a filter is gone, my sister who suffered a bleed on her brain after our car accident has this too, she does things that she would never have done before for example: pulls up her tshirt in a store to show you that her bra is the same as whats on the stand. its embarrassing and completely unlike her (or her before the accident at least) and at first i didnt know whether to tell her it was inappropriate and risk embarrassing her or to just leave it, and in the end i opted to ignor it, it wasnt hurting anyone and telling her would only hurt her feelings and make her feel awkward about it. and either ive learnt to ignor it so well or got so used to it that now i don't even notice or it has got better with time. i hope it get easier for you guys too :)

I agree with Kassybird

You could also compare your brain after injury to a malfunctioning computer with bugs in the software which cause unexpected results

I hope this makes sense as my brain is not working tonight lols

WHY SHOULD YOU TRY TO STOP HIM. I MAKE SOME ACID COMMENTS NOBODY APPEARS TO CARE. PERHAPS I HAVE MORE UNDERSTANDING PEOPLE AROUND ME. MORE POWER TO HIS ELBOW OR SHOULD I SAY HIS TONGUE.
