This is a question posed to me. This resulted from the ongoing trials using the PD Gloves for the person with Parkinson's AND Lewy Body. There is observational / anecdotal evidence that the PD symptoms are better 🙂. BUT - the pressing $64M question - is the vibrotactile stimulation assisting 🙂 with the Lewy Body dementia OR could it be exacerbating 😲 the Lewey Body condition ?
Does vibrotactile PD glove stimulation ha... - Cure Parkinson's
Does vibrotactile PD glove stimulation have potential impact on Lewy Body - good ,bad or ugly?
According to an interview some months ago with Dr Peter Tass, when asked if the gloves helped with dementia, he said that 2 people with "cognition impairment" had shown signs of "substantial improvement" when using the gloves.
My WWP, who was diagnosed with PD in 2019, has developed PDD and has also been using the home-made gloves, as per instructions posted on You Tube, for over 7 months. Although her motor symptoms are well under control, her PDD is not. Whether the gloves have exacerbated the condition is difficult to say. If this was the case, I think that it would, by now, have been mentioned.
Lately, about 4 weeks ago, my wife started taking Donepezil (Donecept) and some small improvements in her PDD are beginning to appear. This medication takes between 3 to 5 weeks for any noticeable improvements, so hopefully her PDD will improve further. Has anyone else tried this medication?
Thanks for your post. The PWLB takes seroguel cos the LB is rather severe and regular hallucinations. The dilemma is that the PD or LB severity varies across a wide spectrum for different individuals. I mentioned in another post - and it happened again - the PWP/LB got up in the middle of the night and hit the partner with the walking aid till his hands/wrist were bleeding! And in the morning the PWP/LD says ." What happened to you ? " ..!!! One point to note too is that the trial participants are carefully screened/selected.
