Read this important article if you live in US. Dangers of using the most popular herbicide (Roundup) in US.

It is brought to you by the same company MONSANTO that promotes GMOs.

Round-up, with the active chemical glyphosate along with other proprietary additives, is in common use world wide, not only in agriculture in combination with GMO crops, but also in urban areas by councils and residents for what could be deemed cosmetic purposes. There have been long standing concerns over the safety of Round-up and its possible role in Non-Hodgkin Lymphomas (NHL) which includes CLL. I've even heard of NHL being termed "Groundskeepers disease", but it seems that hard evidence linking the use of Round-up and cancers in humans is proving difficult to find. Concerns about the widespread use of Round-up go far beyond the tentative link between its use and the development of cancers. There are definitely many alternative methods of weed control and concerned members may wish to avoid using it on their properties and even consider encouraging a change in weed control practices by petitioning their representatives.

A 10 year old Cancer Incidence among Glyphosate-Exposed Pesticide Applicators in the Agricultural Health Study which is a "prospective cohort study of 57,311 licensed pesticide applicators in Iowa and North Carolina" and is published by the US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health states:

"The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA 1993) and the World Health Organization (WHO 1994) reviewed the toxicology data on glyphosate and concluded that glyphosate is not mutagenic or carcinogenic. The U.S. EPA classified glyphosate as category E, indicating “evidence of noncarcinogenicity for humans” (U.S. EPA 1993). Despite this conclusion, three recent case–control studies suggested an association between reported glyphosate use and the risk of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). (see link below for references - Neil) Considering the widespread and frequent use of glyphosate in both the United States and the rest of the world, ongoing risk assessment is of importance."

Can anyone reference any more recent papers that show a more definite link?

The whole situation is a mess.

In Switzerland the general public is banned from using RoundUp and thus it is not available in any 'Garden Stores'..

However the farmers can buy a very concentrated version and they are allowed to use it..!!

Monsanto among many others brought us Agent Orange, 2,4-5T and 2,4-D

There was a major pan-European study last year among agricultural workers that showed CLL risk was highest amongst those ever exposed to organophosphates.
