After angiogram

Received message from GP that cardiologist had asked them to prescribe isosorbide mononitrate 25 mg slow release. Following a letter a hand delivered to GP yesterday he messaged me last night to say cardiologist does want to see me again. He is of the opinion that I possibly have “coronary artery spasm or oesophageal spasm.”

Day 2 of taking the tablet and I do feel lightheaded but that is a common side effect and it might take 2 weeks to get used to the tablets! The pharmacist said she will ring me after a week to see how I’m getting on. I am monitoring my BP 2x daily. I asked the pharmacist whether I’d be ok taking the tablets as I’ve got glaucoma and she said the type I have (which is normal tension glaucoma) I will be ok to take them.

Well that's progress! Nitrates help treat both coronary vasospasms and oesophageal spasms.
