I thought March was. maybe that’s brain injury month I forget I deal with both but never know how to take advantage of the awareness of it all so it doesn’t matter.

Brain injury awareness month is in March. Some ways to take advantage of mental health awareness month is by following mental health organizations on social media as they will share tips and links to resources throughout the month. A few organizations are: Mental Health Coalition, Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA), Wondermind, National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).

mental health means feeling okay to be alive and comfortable with myself. something I wish I had.

To me a healthy mental state means balance and peace.

Getting to that place is the hard part

While I don't wish what I have on anyone, and it's difficult sometimes to live through, I do have good days too. And it has made me a survivor, not the victim. I am stronger for it, because I have to try harder to overcome fears, and sadness, and feeling empty some days and know that it's just my stuff, I'll be okay.

I also have learned to have boundaries with people. I don't share my mental health with just anyone and everyone in the real world...they don't need to know, it's my business. Most people won't understand, use it against you like a weapon, or pity you, or don't want to know about it, or even care about it... and none of that is helpful. I want to be proud I am a survivor and have achieved most of what I wanted to in life in spite of my mental health struggles.

mental health for me is a constant struggle waiting for the clouds to shift from my mind or getting darker the feeling of the walls closing in on you with no escape. your constantly embattled in the trenches fighting for freedom I could be anything and everything from day to day the balance isn`t tipping in my favour yet but I`ve survived many and I`m still here giving life a go.
