Great weather for flying kites, but a disaster for birds 🐦 πŸ¦β€β¬› 😒

We've had wild winds up here on the west coast of Scotland, I've been watching a pair of magpies carefully construct a decent sized nest, only for the winds to tear it apart, I'm hoping they'll come back and repair it, and lay a clutch of eggs in the coming weeks, I always throw my bits of food out of the window, and I avoid throwing bread out, it's not good for a bird to digest this, yes even bird's should have a well balanced diet πŸ˜‰ I think we take nature for granted, wishing you all a great Saturday evening, wherever you are πŸ€—

Hi there yes it's very sad I'm sure they will mend it or start another maby in safer place, I was thinking today as passed the place where the water hens built a nest last year a full year has passed, I took a little video of them feeding one stayed with the babies whilst other got food, not there now only saw one looking for food must be nested somewhere else , yes I know about bread giving them πŸ’©it's national insurance day today I mean I B s lol this predictive text is a nightmare 🀩my tulips got a good shake in the rain and wind but revealed beautiful insides, I got stuck between a flooded park path and muddy grass so I choose the mud 😭 and we got my hearth broke up with a crow bar lol save my builder coming back, finish off tomorrow,so productive day I don't mind the wind when it's warm, think I'll put heat on now enjoy your eve πŸ’›πŸŒ»πŸ˜Έ

Hello Aldon do you have IBS I have IBD πŸ™„ but I'm back in remisshion thank goodness ulcerative colitis came back after nearly ten years all's good now completely normal πŸ™cured from special diet I'll stay on it for life this timeπŸ’›πŸŒ»

Essentially last seven years been through that many "diets" practically lost faith in them, ok have diabetes 2, but when so called diabetes "expert" changed my 'medication' , led to dramatic side effects, as usual new face cleared it upπŸ™ƒ looking through between the lines, and basic common sense advice from good friends on HU, I usually come through, a simple basic diet, but SOMETIMES my "one off" cadaver likes to prove me wrong🀬🀫

My son has Type2, and Diabetic Retinopathy as well. Still trying to get his diet to a place he's comfortable with. getting doctor's appointments, is impossible here!

Cheers, Midori

You want a appointment here, 9-12am Monday and Tuesday, to get a GP, even then GP 'grills' you via the phone, then you find specific GP is on holiday or 'unavailable' until next weekπŸ™„πŸ’€πŸ˜€πŸ€¬

Ah well Twinkly I probably do have IBS that many change of diets, especially in last four years diabetes 2, and misdiagnosedπŸ€— Prostate Cancer, losing of weight, essentially had to form my own "diets" in that time, with help of HU friends, bound to be a slip πŸ’© up somewhere! [does not help the temper eitherπŸ€«πŸ™„]

in reply to Adlon57

Good morning yes I know you've had lots to deal with must be very frustrating, one thing after another, people look forward to retirement but what comes but health problems, my step dad died one year after he retired big list of things, my mam plods on but struggling more age 85 nearly, I think most have some IBS some worst than others, I do think my self lucky that I'm back in remisshion but wish didn't have the curse colitis hanging over me coming back least expected, I have to get my biopsy results but colonoscopy man said can't see cancer, I'm not worrying about that and relieved was inflamed colon making me ill not cancer which the πŸ’©test came back positive just meant showed blood I didn't know at first, I was also misdiagnosed with breast cancer few years back unusual white mass they saw, yes we can do without these shocks, sending a hug and πŸ™πŸ€—πŸ’›βœ¨πŸŒ»

Hi there do you have it 😊

The gales and winds have been very severe down South to, it really makes me nervous. I also feed the birds daily, i love them all even though we get a lot of greedy gulls .

Cb1963 profile image
Cb1963 in reply to secrets22

Yes, the seagulls have a " healthy " appetite 🀣 but you've got to admire they're quite impressive birds to look at, we have a big community garden so when I throw scraps out I scatter the food in different directions to try and let the smaller birds get a chance to grab a bit of food , I even cut up bits of bacon rind up, I enjoy watching the magpies as they sometimes bury the food for a later time, even the crow's get bullied by the seagulls, it's different during the winter the seagulls tend to " paddle " for worm's as perhaps they aren't quite ready for mating, and they don't have such a big appetite, they've adapted to living around the chimney pots and nest anywhere, and once the chick's are roaming around I have to keep close to the building otherwise they will try to attack you, you have to keep your wit's around you, and of course they make a heck of a racket with their screeching noise 🫣
