I had quite a few problems before with food mate, especially spicy food. Digestive issues in general are a known antagonist for the heart thanks to the sensitivity of the vagal nerve.

If I overate, or had food I knew would cause heartburn then odds on would trigger something . Short walk sometimes helped relieve the symptoms, lying down exacerbated the bloated feeling typically triggering an episode. Eating small Portions helped me a lot as did a short walk post food.

Had a few flutters this week, overtired, and major stress with another family loss mate, nothing major, just a little active and uncomfortable, so just trying not to push too hard and let it settle, be glad to see the back of 2020 it's a car crash of a year to say the least.

Sodium is my main trigger while Indian cuisine is one of my favorites. My current reality is making it very hard to enjoy any Asian cuisines. I am finding it easier if I drink unusually large amounts of water through the day to purge the sodium from my system.

This is especially maddening as I do business in India and the importer of my products in Mumbai also owns the best veg restaurants in Mumbai and Delhi and regularly sends me seasonings to enjoy in my home. I can't bring myself to admit to him that for now I'm just warehousing most of these wonderful spices.

Still, my recent discovery of the help that I get from drinking ridiculous amounts of water may bring me back to some level of culinary happiness.

My diet becomes more and more plain, simple & conservative against my preferred 'try everything' past life. In particular I have reduced sugar & gluten 75%+. This helps, as my digestion and body is better, which intern helps AF as the Vagus Nerve is less sensitive.

I only get them with certain foods. I had to go gluten free in 2016 after an ablation did not fix. I had a naturopathic doctor who suggested going gluten free to see if that helped and it did. Probably your indian food had wheat in there somewhere, can even be in some seasonings. Also, Aspartame and Sucralose will get my heart to go crazy, even chewing gum that I don't swallow will set my heart off if it has either of these artificial sweeteners in it. I also notice some disturbances with caramel, I have not figured that one out yet, as far as if there is one particular ingredient in the caramel.

Yeah I think I will try gluten so do you have gluten free everything?

No wheat/gluten. I always check labels to see what the allergens are in each product I buy. If it says wheat, I do not purchase. And when going to restaurants I have to make sure they know that I cannot have wheat/gluten in anything.

And it’s help greatly you say?

I no longer get ectopics from food anymore unless I accidentally get wheat/gluten or artificial sweeteners mostly. Slight reaction with caramel toppings too, but that is it. I was told that it takes about a year to really notice the difference with not having gluten but I noticed it right away. And the one time I had some about 6 months after quitting, my heart was crazy for 5 days before it settled down and this was post ablation even. I had an ablation in March of 2016 and went GF in April of 2016 because I still was having problems.

Sorry what’s GF? And when you say your heart goes crazy you mean ectopics or just going haywire? And do you still get some ectopics just not with food now?
