Provenge does not lower PSA, and that resulted in it not being prescribed and led to bankruptcy of the company that brought it to market It however does have a positive effect on survival. This is thought to be because it attacks circulating tumor cells. It's the matastiies formed by circulating tumor cells that end killing you.

It is thought that the earlier you have Provenge the better your survival. But since the company went bankrupt probably around a decade ago, trials weren't performed on hormone sensitive patients who might benefit even more.

Cost of Provenge increased by almost doubled a couple years ago overnight. No explanation, just because they could it appears.

Still being used, but seemingly just arbitrarily here and there.

I'm going to show this to my MO.

I had it 4 years ago while I was hormone sensitive, and I'm still kicking.

Good! But I assume hard to know exactly what it did? Since you weren't resistant? That seems to be the best time.

let me add a little more confusion.

There is a better version of the Provenge that is called "dendritic cells therapy". Provenge builds the T cell from your blood,

while in dendritic cell therapy, they build T-cells from actual tumors. It is required to do a biopsy in dendritic cell therapy because they will take the tissue cells and build the T-CELL from it. It is not approved in the USA many patients go outside of USA for the same

there is one user in this group reported that dendritic cell therapy cleaned up his 39 tumors in 6 month Search "dendritic cell" in our group and so many good informations

I like the dendritic cell because they will go actual place and collect the tissue. Also build t-cell from it

Hmmm. I wonder if that's what Dr. Onik used down in Ft. Lauderdale.

I would go for clinical trials specially focus on systemic therapy that has min side effects before I start AR inhibitors. There are many with great results ARX517
