Benepali: Stool side effects

Hi everyone

hope your having a nice day, just a quick question if your taking Benepali. Is your stool dark the day after taking the injection?

I have only been taking this for a month now and always constipated a day or two after but was shocked to discover the stool was very dark nearly black in colour and this goes away after a day or two.

Any advice welcome.

Not me but that doesn't mean it can. However if it continues ask your rhuemy dept.

No but if it looks like coffee brown you should report it. It just might be blood. It causes me to get blood in urine but in my case after a lot of investigations it is harmless but nevertheless should not be ignored.

Not in my experience but it’s probably worth getting checked out to make sure it’s not blood.

Hi Frankie, I’ve been on weekly benepali shots since 2016 and not had any stool issues. I hope you can get yours sorted. Best.

I'm on benepali and not had this. Get a pooh test from gp and let your Rheumy know. Could be blood if nearly black. Hope it turns out ok.

I’ve been on benepali for 7yrs, with no issues. Black stool suggests bleeding high up in the colon or stomach, and need’s investigating. If you’ve recently started iron tablets, they can cause it, but definitely speak to gp
